Side Effects for Gengraf (cyclosporine)

Stomach cramps until I started taking it with milk. Lower back weakness and knee pain.

This drug has helped me tremendously. My skin was so bad for months and months. I went to 6 different dermas here in NJ with no help. I have a bagful of creams, none of which would help me. Finally someone suggested i go to NYU. Right away he gave me cyclo. I started with 250 mg a day, last month diminished it to 225 and just this week dwindled to 200. I want to get off this drug only because I hate taking anything with so many side effects for too long. But, I am so afraid it will come back again. The worst of it is the dryness and itchiness and redness of my face and eyelids. It is starting again to get a little itchy, but maybe because it is winter. No moisturizer really helps, even vaseline. If anyone has any suggestions as to what works on your skin for this condition, please email.

GENGRAF (CYCLOSPORINE): Cyclosporine is used to prevent organ rejection in people who have received a liver, kidney, or heart transplant. It is usually taken along with other medications to allow your new organ to function normally. Cyclosporine is also used to treat severe cases of rheumatoid arthritis and plaque psoriasis. In these conditions, the body's defense system (immune system) attacks healthy tissues. Cyclosporine belongs to a class of drugs known as immunosuppressants. It works by weakening the immune system to help your body accept the new organ as if it were your own (in the case of an organ transplant) and to prevent further damage to your joints (in the case of rheumatoid arthritis) or skin (in the case of psoriasis). I don't notice any side effects.

I am taking 5 mg twice a day with celexa 20 mg daily. Felt a relief of anxiety symptoms yesterday evening for a couple hours, side effects not bad so far. Hopefully will have more relief from symptoms in the days to come. Am tempted to ask for ativan for the time being until full effect of Buspar. Will start 5 mg three times a day tomorrow. Actually today will be my third full day of taking it, so a little early to tell the full effect or side effects.

I went on cozaar because it was cheaper than Diovan; but I could not deal with the dizziness. It was so bad sometimes I couldn't leave the house. Switched to Atacand, but still having the same problems. Not sure if they are caused by the Cozaar still being in my system or the Atacand. I am going back to Diovan because I never had any problems with it. Too bad it is so expensive---

horrible cramps during period, heavy periods, breast size increase, appetite increase, minor weight gain (5lbs at most), extremely tender breasts

Panic attacks stopped. I was taking 2mg/day for 1 month now down to 1mg/day for the next month. I hope I can quit without the panic attacks and severe depression coming back. I had no idea the withdrawals would be this bad. I had suicidal thoughts and thought I was losing my mind.

Finally something that isnt narcotic and it works. I'm starting to think even better than adderall. I'm retaining information so much better than I have in a very long time.

This is our 6th month TTC on clomid, my husband and i have been trying for over 2 years and are now starting to loose hope, its heartbreaking every month when i get my period, i hope this last month on clomid is our month

I take 20 mg in the morning. I have difficulty swallowing capsules, so I empty them into a glass of water. I am on my 2nd day with few side effects. Insomnia is bearable. I wake up with energy, and feel somewhat rested, so I will not worry about it. So far I have lost 3.4 lbs, which is most likely water weight. My pants fit better, so I am happy. This is not a miracle drug. You will forget to eat sometimes, but you will still need to maintain will power and make good choices when eating. I took phendimetrazine in the past. I think M. is better because you do not have that “rush” feeling and the racing heart. So far, I am happy.
