Falmina (ethinyl estradiol; levonorgestrel) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Falmina (ethinyl estradiol; levonorgestrel)

Acne/water retention and weight gain/panic attack and anxiety

I have hated this pill since I started taking it but pushed through thinking the side effects would get better. I am going to stop or switch because I can't take the panic attacks and effects it has on my heart anymore. Definitely don't recommend!

FALMINA (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; LEVONORGESTREL): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: a progestin and an estrogen. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. Using this medication does not protect you or your partner against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Lexapro help me a lot, helped me not to cry all the time and to control my anxiety better. I had no side effects with lexapro.

I might have tasted worse, but I can't remember when! I put Crystal Lite Raspberry Green Tea mix in the jug with the powder and water. It's no fun, but it is drinkable. Just chug as much as you can and chase with a sip of ginger ale. You can do this!

While taking the pill: slightly more irritable/emotional than normal. The week after: Slightly fatigued, some lower back pain, breast tenderness, and my uterus feels sore.

I was prescribed avelox by my ENT doctor after removal of a cyst behind my ear. Three hours after this evening's dose I became very restless and felt my heart palpitating. I tried to get into bed to sleep but the palpitations persisted and seemed to get worse. I was almost ready to wake my husband up to bring me to the hospital but decided to wait it out a little. It took almost 2 hours before the palpitations subsided. It is now 3am and I feel better but I'm afraid to go to bed in case the palpitations come back and I wake up unable to breathe.

I have been on Lexapro for nearly 2 years and it did help but I was always exhausted feeling about mid afternoon. Although it helped with my anxiety issues, it never really helped much with panic so I asked to switch and my pdoc and I agreed on Prozac.I slowly went off the Lexapro and started adding 2.5MG of Prozac for every 2.5MG of Lexapro I would lessen. The Prozac seems to be less sedating so far but I think there's some residual Lexapro still in my system at this point so we'll see in a week or two.The cool awesome thing is my ability to orgasm easily came back, and it came back STRONG and POWERFUL. I still have delayed orgasms but when I finally ejaculate it's extremely intense.I also have ZERO appetite which is fine for now because I could stand to lose about 15 pounds, so most of my food is forced down. And I'm back to sleeping for 6 or 7 hours a night instead of 8 or 9 like I was on Lexapro... Hopefully it will hit the Panic attacks better than the Lexapro did - but so far - I'm happy with the switch...

I was afraid of this drug at first due to the negative Internet publicity but I was in a very bad place in my life and tried other things that did not work. I am now back to my old, positive, outgoing, funny self and feel energized and upbeat and happy to be alive every single day. I have patched up a relationship that was falling apart and am able to focus more at work and accomplish a lot more every day. I am so happy I got through the first few weeks and gave it a chance. If you are having side-effects early on that are not life-threatening, please try to give the drug some time as many or all side effects may dissapear. I am still concerned about ever quitting and withdrawal effects but that is common with most drugs (legal and not) and is a risk worth taking to me to be where I am today. It is important to note I am on the extended release and have not and do not want to try the regular. Thank you Effexor XR!

Although I had no weight gain as with other pills in the past, I began to experience serious depression and mood swings. I had to discontinue this pill.

I too have been on Nefazodone religiously going on 24 years... This is a SERIOUS problem for us, and I pray Teva takes it seriously, and does whatever they can in their power to get this resolved ASAP ! For me Nefazodone saved my life, I took Trazodone first in 1997, and Trazodone made my nose so stuffy, I could only breath through my mouth, and had to stop the Trazodone..... I cannot even state enough, how SERIOUS this is, PLEASE get this resolved as quickly as you can.... This is a MEDICALLY NECESSCARY drug for some of us for decades.. I call Teva once a week, and I will keep doing it, and I just pray those of us whose lives were saved and been on it for decades can find some at places, to hold us over till we get some update.... Teva is the ONLY Manufacturer, and Nefazodone is not a popular choice by many Doctors to prescribe, but the fact is us long term users had our lives saved, and we are CHEMICALLY Dependent on it after years, and decades for some.... Please Teva, your the only one that makes this... Please do your best not to let this drag on month after month, this is very deeply stressful and upsetting for many of us

Suffer from chronic headaches following brain surgery and continued Hydrocephalus condition. I've been taking this medication for 1 week (10mg). Initially, it made me very drowsy and put me to sleep, but I became anxious during the night and couldn't go back to sleep. My Neurologist suggested I continue taking Lorazapam for sleep. My headaches have diminished and I get a good night sleep, except for the dry mouth which makes me thirsty during the night.

Stomach upset, vivid dreams, feeling like I am on a never ending "trip".
