Side Effects for Eszopiclone (eszopiclone)

Before Eszopiclone I could not get to sleep before 3 or 4 in the morning and wake up at 5 and not go back to sleep. My mind was constantly racing and I had taken Valium, Xanax, Clonazepem but nothing worked. My doctor prescribed Eszopiclone and I was skeptical but after the second night I was a sleep by 10 and would wake up at 6. I felt better, slept better, didn't wake up exhausted. The main drawback is if you eat or drink anything it's going to have a bitter taste. I don't think temporary either because things still taste bitter. Some people say the genuine Lunesta is better that the generic but the Eszopiclone works great for me.

May as well not take anything. Some nights it would take 30 minutes to feel effects, others it would take 2 hours. When I did feel effects, it didn't make me tired; just dizzy and uncoordinated (if I don't manage to fall asleep right away, that feeling dissipates within about 45 minutes). After 5 hours of sleep, I awake without fail and can't fall back asleep. To compare, last year, I took 1mg brand name Lunesta for about 2 months, and it worked strong and fast (<15 min), and lasted long. When I awoke during the night I was usually able to fall back asleep. None of this is the case with the generic.I'd be better off taking OTCs.

If you like the brand name version and it works for you, I don't recommend switching to generic, unless you need to save money.

ESZOPICLONE (ESZOPICLONE): This medication is used to treat a certain sleep problem (insomnia). It may help you fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and lessen how often you wake up during the night, so you can get a better night's rest. Eszopiclone belongs to a class of drugs called sedative-hypnotics. It acts on your brain to produce a calming effect. Use of this medication is usually limited to short treatment periods of 1 to 2 weeks or less. If your insomnia continues for a longer time, talk to your doctor to see if you need other treatment. I've used this before, but this time was different!! This stuff is terrible and I will NOT be using it for a third day. The burning and itching is so bad from the medicine. It's worse than the infection itself. Never again will I ever use this medicine!!!!!

prevent pregnancy and help reduce acne

It's helped, but i still feel my heart wanting to speed up. Might have to take a higher dosage, but i really dont want to.Does anyone know if the weird dreams go away?

People react differently to all ADs. My doc hoped this would help me sleep, relieve depression and anxiety, lessen my trips to the bathroom, but "None of the above." I gather it does work for many people. If you want a TCA (tricyclic anti-depressant) be aware that Wal-Mart, Target, etc have several for $4 per month, while imipramine costs a lot more.

It has wotked fine. sleeping better. Don't forget everything. good so far.

i switched from acyclovir to valtrex because i was experiencing frequent outbreaks of genital herpes while on the acyclovir. i have been taking acyclovir for 15 years and rarely (maybe once per year) would have an outbreak. on 400 mg. valtrex, i still continued to have the outbreaks. i started out with half a pill per day to suppress the herpes, then my doctor upped the dose to 1 pill per day -- still i kept having outbreaks. i developed a rash from head to toe last week and can not figure out why. i'm trying to find out if others on acyclovir or valtrex are experiencing rashes.

I love this medication! With my anxiety I would like to take more often if it would continue to work the same but just take on a PRN basis.
