E.e.s. 400 (erythromycin ethylsuccinate) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for E.e.s. 400 (erythromycin ethylsuccinate)

slightly nauseous, less if I took pill with some food; racing heart especially at night after the first week

I was prescribed 400mg, 3x's day for 10 days after developing a reaction to amoxycillin. The erythromicin cleared up the tooth infection, but I stopped taking it after the increased heart rate at night.

E.E.S. 400 (ERYTHROMYCIN ETHYLSUCCINATE): Erythromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It may also be used to prevent certain bacterial infections. Erythromycin is known as a macrolide antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats or prevents only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. Ok, it's 3:30 am... I've gotten about one hour of sleep. I took Claritin D-12 hour to help with nighttime congestion. It definitely helped me breath better, but sleep is another story. I decided to go online at this lovely hour to see if it might be the cause (I'm up anyway). I won't be taking Claritin D- 12 hour at night again.

I wanted to say the word parrot, but instead i said pirate, and i was serious, things like that are happening to me. The most frustrating thing about this drug is the memory loss!!! I feel like "what the...ehh.. nevermind....." when I'm talking to people. Its only been a few days, not even a week since Ive started the medication, so I hope this starts to fade away some after a while. I feel like a dummy! Not much appetite loss yet, well see, i need to loose about 40 lbs. Im not surprized how im reacting, i sometimes react strongly to new meds. It takes time for my body to get used to them. Same with Zoloft. i was sooo sick! Starting and stopping.

Terrible weight gain (15 lbs.), horrendous migraines, decreased libido and nightmares.

I wish I'd never touched this drug. Worked for quite awhile for my foot injury, but it must have reached the tipping point because I almost died. Water retention led to extremely high blood pressure (260/110), vision loss in right eye for over a year due to bulging blood vessel. It's been a very long climb up. BEWARE OF NSAIDS.

nausea at first (improved with time), migraine headaches during off weeks that was treated with taking hormone replacement meds that week.

I received my first shot 4 days before Christmas 2007. For the first 2 weeks, I was fine. Then I started having stomach problems - it felt like someone was squeezing my stomach as hard as they could. That transitioned into cramps, 3 weeks of spotting, *severe* anxiety and panic attacks (I've been on an anti-depressant with great results for 3 years, and my doctor had to double it recently just so I could function on a daily basis), heart palpitations, gas, 20lb. weight loss, and absolutely no energy or drive to do anything, and hair loss. Some of my friends have loved this, but any medication that relies on a huge shot of hormones into your body can't be good. I didn't receive my second shot, but almost a month after I was due, I'm still experiencing horrible side effects on a daily basis.

Upset stomach for the first week, could have also been from Butrans ending. Slight constipation after.

Migraines/ possible pressure pain

Panic attacks, anxiety attacks, raised heart rate at times, fatique, chest pains, weight gain, depression, insomnia!
