Side Effects for Contrave (bupropion hydrochloride; naltrexone hydrochloride)

CONTRAVE (BUPROPION HYDROCHLORIDE; NALTREXONE HYDROCHLORIDE): This medication is used with a doctor-approved exercise, behavior change, and reduced-calorie diet program to help you lose weight. It is used by certain overweight people, such as those who are obese or have weight-related medical problems. Losing weight and keeping it off can lessen the many health risks that come with obesity, including heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and a shorter life. Naltrexone belongs to a class of drugs known as opiate antagonists, and bupropion is an antidepressant that may help restore the balance of certain natural chemicals (neurotransmitters) in your brain. These two medications work together on separate parts of the brain to reduce appetite and how much you eat. Most opiates should not be used for 7 to 10 days before starting naltrexone, but some opiate drugs (such as methadone) should not be used for 10 to 14 days before starting naltrexone. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Other forms of naltrexone or bupropion are used to treat a variety of conditions including depression, other mental/mood disorders, smoking cessation, addiction to narcotic medication, and alcohol abuse. This combination product is not approved for these other uses. Discuss the risks and benefits of this medication, as well as other ways to lose weight, with your doctor. Bruise very easily although I bruised anyway. I seem to be too heavy for what I eat. Wondering if it's related to xarelto. Menstrual cycle is very heavy because of being on it. Stopped taking it and 2 days later noticed weight loss.

i have tried to stop for several months and have done so, with about one month of craziness where i yelled at everyone in sight. i quit out of a desire to limit the pharmaceuticals in my life, but i dream of a big bottle of xanax.

Cymbalta, which is an SNRI, seems to help me better than the SSRI's like Prozac, Zoloft, and Paxil. Cymbalta knocks my anxiety right out and just relaxes me. It's a very well-tolerated drug for me with very mild side-effects. It also seems to give me energy as it keeps my seasonal depression at bay. I love Cymbalta! oh yeah, it is also cheap without insurance, about $120 a month for 30 days of 60 mgs.

Racing heart, anxiety, sleepless nights, irritable and feel like I'm on a bad upper.

Brain fog. Increased incidence of flare ups. SLEEP - I could sleep anywhere at any time. Lack of concentration. No decrease in pain. And it didn't stop the damage to my joints though it was described to me as a disease modifier. Blood work got worse month after month and still the insisted I take it.

Classic bitter, horrible taste; extreme fatigue; irrational thoughts; crying; night sweats; insomnia; some tummy pain; no diarrhea problems; major tummy bloating.

I had a 5 weeks long heavy bleeding with lots horrible clots. I was on Provera for 7 days and the bleeding gets worse and constant. I took Aygestin two days ago right after the biopsy, the bleeding stopped after a few hours. I am taking 5mg three times a day for a week, then will take 2 times a day afterwards. I finally can restore my energy now. I guess my body didn't react well with Provera. What's the difference between these two medication any way? Aygestin works like a magic to me, I am aware of the possibel clots, so I guess I will eat more onions and natural blood thinner and watch for the signs.

Antibiotics generally make me sick so I wasn't too surprised when I started to feel nauseous after I started taking the first couple of pills. The nausea dramatically increased after each pill taken. I am pregnant and the doctor had previously prescribed me a pill for nausea so I began taking that together with the macrobid first thing every morning and just before bed. It helped with the constant vomiting but I still felt icky and tired all day. After 10 days it cleared up most of the symptoms but when I went in for another urinalysis there were still traces of bacteria. Apparently antibiotics can cause a build up of yeast, which then turn back into uti's. I am now starting a series of injections and am using monostat every night. Hope it works.
