Side Effects for Cholestyramine (cholestyramine)

The only side effect I have so far is getting a little gassy and sometimes a low appetite..

It took my watery diarrhea to 1x a day and the stools are formed. I take 1 4g scoop before bed and I am free to leave the house again and I can eat more foods in moderation without getting diarrhea and/or urgency.

I've had the problem for 5 years, and tried everything. This works very well, and I don't have the concerns about my brain health that I had when taking Imodium. I don't have a gall bladder, and this may be the reason it works for me. It binds to fats that the gall bladder used to remove. Went from going 5-10 times a day to only 2 or 3.

Better with it than without it.

CHOLESTYRAMINE (CHOLESTYRAMINE): Cholestyramine is used along with a proper diet to lower cholesterol in the blood. Lowering cholesterol helps decrease the risk for strokes and heart attacks. In addition to a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Consult your doctor for more details. Cholestyramine may also be used to treat itching in people with too much bile acid caused by a certain type of liver/bile duct disease (partial biliary obstruction). This medication is known as a bile acid-binding resin. It works by removing bile acid from the body. In people with high cholesterol, this causes the liver to make more bile acid by using cholesterol in the blood. This helps to lower the cholesterol levels. First two days I was very irritated and quite edgy. However, I am starting to get used to it and it seems to be working great. Tried lithiam, depakote which worked great except for the terrible hair loss, so hoping this will stop the loss

Weight gain of about 40lbs in 6 months (fortunately I was underweight.)

Acne is better, but still there, trouble sleeping, breast pain, hip tenderness, leg restlessness, increased anxiety

This is a great pain reliever. Just super addictive, and I swear I have not had a good orgasim in 10 months. It wires me like crazy, and people think I have multiple personalitys, one minute I want to be very peaceful with everyone, the next I hate everyone. When you forget a dose, you literally feel like death is knocking on your door.

So I was very hesitant to go on Lexapro after all the bad reviews that I read on it. However, when my panic attacks were getting way out of control I knew i had to start. I am not going to lie the first couple of days were horrible. I became so depressed, I though i was never going to be happy again, my anxiety spiked as well. I could not sleep at all. I would fall asleep for and hour or so, then wake up and not be able to go back to bed. I had horrible, horrible nausea. I can not believe i never vomited. I could not function and just wanted to curl up into a ball and die because I felt so horrible (I was NOT suicidal though, I had no thoughts of killing myself). After a brutal 5 days things started to turn around. It seems like after day 6 all the horrible side effects completely vanished like i had gotten over a terrible illness. Now I have been on lexapro for four months and I feel wonderful. I am so happy all the time. NO panic attacks. I feel no anxiety even over little things that would make most people anxious. Seriously my life has done a 360. There are only a few complaints I have but I would rather deal with the side effects that the anxiety. I have to sleep way more than I use to, about 10 hours to feel fully rested. If I do not get enough sleep I need to nap, which I never did before. It seems my sex drive is still going strong, but I sometimes have trouble orgasming. This could be a placebo effect though. When I drink, it doesn't make me feel good, like alcohol i

I had been on Spiriva before and since the inhalers were the same I figured it would be ok. Definitely not for me .

Headache for about a day. Other than that, no side effects whatsoever.
