No side effects.Doesn'ttaste great but if you follow directions just swish and don't drink for a while it is fine. It works and gums felt better after second day
CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE (CHLORHEXIDINE GLUCONATE): This medication is used along with regular tooth brushing/flossing to treat gingivitis, a gum disease that causes red, swollen, and easily bleeding gums. Chlorhexidine belongs to a class of drugs known as antimicrobials. Washing hands in cold water helped the itching. If there was a different option I would NEVER EVER go for this medication. The itchiness is keeping me awake even though I feel VERY VERY sleepy.
With my latest lab results,(8-26-08),showing elevated liver enzymes and a chest x-ray showing pneumonia, I attribute my overall general malaise plus abnormal labs and pneumonia to this drug. I am awaiting the lab results from additional blood tests that will screen for possible liver damage.
A little nauseous the first time I took it but that went away, I felt a little tired in the morning but it wore off pretty fast.

I took 500 mg tablets of Levaquin 2 weeks ago for 7 days. The infection in my elbow has disappeared after the first 3 days of treatment. I finished the medicine. My elbow has mild soreness from time to time when I lean on it. This soreness probably due to overworking it during the infection and lack of rest, but no infection has appeared and I am quite satisfied with this medicine.
Serious Allergic reaction that didn't show up until 10 days after taking the medicine.Hives, general malaise, dizzy,temperature,feelings of confusion.
