Works well for allergy drys up mucus, just not worth the bad side effects it made me feel terrible. I didn't think something you can buy in supermarkets off the shelf would have such bad side effects !
Drowziness, lethargy, unusual irritability.
After 1 dose, I felt lethargic, slow of tongue and brain. I couldn't joke around with my child, felt bloated and tired the next day.
Been taking it every day for 9 years and have never had a problem. I usually also take nasal spray with it.
Great difficulty staying awake. Always tired except ten minutes after waking for the day. Alarm clock no longer wakes me, despite sounding like a fire alarm. Foggy thinking. Struggle to get through the day. Irregular heart beat, rise in blood pressure. Mentally not me, weird thinking as I drift to sleep sitting/standing even midday. No family history of any of these symptoms. Other variables examined, it's the cetirizine.
Good allergy control, bad side effects. I cannot function at all with allergy meds, nor sleep at night, but a half-awake, stoner life for years is not fulfilling. Tried 10 mg instead but still had bad side effects.

I have never had any side effects from this drug. I went from using the lotion form for poison ivy when I was a child to yearly injections for severe allergy attacks. Not once have I ever had any of the side effects that others are listing.
Ended the chest pains and shortness of breath. Good for sleeping, but I can't remember my dreams. I also wonder if it has affected my memory, but the panic was blanking me out, so it's hard to tell. Also, factor in menopause, if you can. No withdrawal when I stop. I take about .25mg-.5mg per day as I need it.
My biggest problem is that my neurologist refuses to believe that lamictal has anything to do with my cognitive problems and attributes them to anxiety--even though testing shows that I've had a 30 point in IQ. I've always had anxiety but it never intefered with my work. I've had to leave my job as a professor. When I try to find the side effects of lamictal I can't find actual medical studies about cognitive effects although many people report them.
violent dreams, night sweats, itching, irregular circadian rhythm, suppressed libido, affective flattening beyond normal maturation. Withdrawal during past week: dizziness, vertigo, so-called brain zaps (jittery vision especially when turning the head, difficulty focusing sustained attention on visual or informative stimuli, resulting in restricted learning capability), sensation of eye-strain even upon waking, somnolence, irritability, as well as an unanticipated and very welcome return of libido.
I suggest that if there are other options, go with that.

My son has taken Zyrtec for 4 days and I couldn't figure out why he has been so irritable and emotional for the last few days!I had a weird feeling it was the Zyrtec and now I'm sure of it.
I would never recommend anyone taking this awful product. While taking this, I did things that I would never have done if I hadn't been under the influence of this product. Since going off, I have returned to a normal life again, but unfortunately, the effects and causes changed my life forever.
