CEFOTAN (CEFOTETAN DISODIUM): Cefotetan is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. It may also be used before and during certain surgeries to help prevent infection. This medication is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for virus infections (such as common cold, flu). Using any antibiotic when it is not needed can cause it to not work for future infections. It helped with the muscle spasms long enough for me to get to sleep, but the effects didn't carry into the next day. It made me slightly manic, like I'd had way too much coffee, but not enough to be dangerous. I had a doctor tell me not to make major life decisions on this drug, and i see why.The worst of it though it's the vivid, terrifying nightmares where I felt like I was in real danger and woke up screaming. They don't wear off fast either - I couldn't find my phone and remember thinking I'd left it in my dream. I woke up and thought some dream-entity had replaced my sleeping partner. And of course, my partner doesn't sleep well when I wake up screaming.
Akathisia is a very unpleasant feeling, and it made me feel anxious and was not able to function on daily matters. Would recommend the drug for psychosis, but unfortunately due to many side effects I would reconsider taking the drug another time.
Use this for illeoceal valve removal during surgery over decade ago. Works well for Diarreha. Powerful pain meds work better for D*. This med I use on occasion when severe D*.
Birth control and period regulation
Yeast infection /UTI like symptoms. Never have these symptoms with penicillin drugs or zithromax. Was tested for YI, BV, UTI, and other STDs with negatives for all of the above. Hoping this stuff works out of my system quickly.
bad headache for the first 3 days; appetite suppresent; some stomach pain; yawning; irritability; I don't feel my normal "happy" self anymore. :(
Increased dry mouth, increased dream intensity, mild increase in energy. Slight insomnia at first but that went away after a week or so and now sleep better than ever before. Sleep and feel much better if avoiding alcohol.
This drug has made my life tolerable again, and have been stable and content for some time. My only concern is that withdrawal may cause problems.
I've taken this drug before but never experienced these side effects. The cramping in my stomach started this morning, thought it was hunger pains until I tried to eat something. Within 10 mins I was being sick. Same thing happened around lunch time, I managed to eat a piece of bread and within half an hour started to be sick again. I've been back and forwards to the loo now to vomit 6 times since 1pm. I've started to bring the tablets back up too. Going to speak to my doc ASAP, I can't take this.
