Carospir (spironolactone) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Carospir (spironolactone)

the side effects (dry eyes, joint pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, weight gain) became intolerable so I stopped taking it. 2 months later and I am still having horrible effects to my health, I hope this won't be permanent and I'm terrified that this drug may have somehow damaged my body long term.

Developed gynecomastia. My breasts are now 38B and still growing. Need to wear a sports bra to contain them. Doctor says the choice is higher BP or this.

BP down from 152/89 to 116/62 with this and my other meds.

CAROSPIR (SPIRONOLACTONE): Spironolactone is used to treat high blood pressure and heart failure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. It is also used to treat swelling (edema) caused by certain conditions (such as heart failure, liver disease) by removing excess fluid and improving symptoms such as breathing problems. This medication is also used to treat low potassium levels and conditions in which the body is making too much of a natural chemical (aldosterone). Spironolactone is known as a "water pill" (potassium-sparing diuretic). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Early on-headaches, nausea, increased sex drive (difficult combo). Now, very sleepy, nausea.

I am constantly thirsty on Yasmin. It is especially bad for a few hours after I take my pill, but lasts all day no matter how much I drink. Also, within days of starting the pills I got my first canker sore and it took weeks to get rid of. The canker sore did help me lose weight since I couldnt eat but Yasmin also seems to act as an appetite suppressant for me which is nice. One thing I definitely did not like was that I went from a 36C to a 36DDD within three months. Over time and with weight loss I was able to get back to a D cup, but never smaller than that again! Despite the side effects, I have really enjoyed the benefits of Yasmin, which included lighter, shorter and more regular periods. It also helped with my frequent axillary infections and facial/chest hair, all the result of my PCOS.

I have been left with permanent peripheral neuropathy. A few days after taking it I could barely walk and I have just been told my condition will be permanent.

labored breathing hair loss exhausted and very low pulse rate..this was combined with amiodarone..so I am not sure of the combined side effects

my 7 year old daughter experiences seasonal allergies and i gave her this based on rave reviews from friends. since beginning it 4 days ago she has dark circles under her eyes, is spacey and doesn't respond, and is irritable.i am weary of stopping though, because these are also common symptoms of severe ALLERGIES IN CHILDREN. so...?

Emotional, mood swings from one extreme to the next

Have other families seen tooth decay/broken molars as an issue with Singulaire? I know if we stay on this medication, we are changing the time we give her the Singulaire chewable pill, definitely before brushing our teeth.

I wasn't given any information about this and unfortunately didn't research it first. There will definitely not be a third shot and I tell everyone about my side effects. Since the shots are given every six months I am hoping and praying that it will be out of my system at the end of the year.

Seems to works fine. Have taken for about one year. Used to get severe heart pain and had difficulty swallowing prior to start taking the medication. Feeling better now but still have about 10 months to go on the medication.

i would not recommend taking this drug to anyone. after 4 days, i can't function and everything is in a fog. i am taking back my prescription and demanding a refund. i haven't slept in days.
