Side Effects for Caduet (amlodipine besylate; atorvastatin calcium)

Sore neck, low grade headache-dull, sore wrist, all joints, tired, when moving joints they feel like they grind.

CADUET (AMLODIPINE BESYLATE; ATORVASTATIN CALCIUM): This product contains 2 medications: amlodipine and atorvastatin. Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker and is used to treat high blood pressure or prevent chest pain (angina). It works by relaxing the blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily and the heart does not need to work so hard. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Preventing chest pain can help improve your ability to exercise. Atorvastatin is used along with a proper diet to help lower "bad" cholesterol and fats (such as LDL, triglycerides) and raise "good" cholesterol (HDL) in the blood. It belongs to a group of drugs known as "statins." It works by reducing the amount of cholesterol made by the liver. Lowering "bad" cholesterol and triglycerides and raising "good" cholesterol decreases the risk of heart disease and helps prevent strokes and heart attacks. In addition to eating a proper diet (such as a low-cholesterol/low-fat diet), other lifestyle changes that may help this medication work better include exercising, losing weight if overweight, and stopping smoking. Consult your doctor for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Having spent a lifetime as the 'skinny' guy, I've put on nearly 1.5 stone since starting the drug. Has given me my life back regarding the hypermanic spells though. I can work, think and get on with daily life without bewilderment.

Took this for about 9 months and cholesterol level reduced to 4. Felt OK for about 5 months then started feeling extremely tired and nauseous. Stopped last month for just one week and saw GP who took blood test. Cholesterol level soared in that week to 6.7 even though my diet is very low-fat. My liver test is giving cause for concern and I have to see GP again. Also have had one ultra-sound scan of pelvis three months ago and need a follow-up (this week) as something seen that "Just needs keeping an eye on"

arms are weaker at times, mood swings, loss of appetiate, non drosiness.

Had a headache and coworker gave me two EMs. An hour later on my hour long commute home my vision blurred, tingling and feeling faint. I actually had to pull over to regroup. Luckily, I was on the phone with my aunt so she stayed on the phone to make sure I made it home. Drove all the way home with windows down in 20 degree weather. Hours later and still feel awful. This stuff should come with some major warnings. Will never take again. Hope I feel better tomorrow.

mood swings, depression, anxiety, burning during sex, lack of sex drive, weight gain, hair loss, unable to loose weight, unable to control mood swings, migranes

I tried to stick this pill out for the entire three months but since taking it my mild acne has gotten worse, in weird small bumps all over my face, my boobs went down an entire cup size, I cry all the time and her angry for no reason. I also started to experience dryness during sex and will definitely be switching back to my Juleber. I really wanted this to work for me but unfortunately it doesn’t!

Pros definitely outweigh the cons. I feel like a "normal" person again. Off the medication I constantly feel "wired" and suffered insomnia from constant anxiety. On the medication I feel very calm and balanced.

This had to have been the most terrifying medication I have ever taken. It's a good thing I only found out the symptoms could be permanent after they went away.
