Fatigue, Severe irritability, nausea, dizziness when standing up, intolerance to alcohol, some constipation, gas if taken exactly with a meal (best to give food time to digest a bit) huge drop in motivation to do anything. All I feel like doing is laying in bed all day, but without sleeping because it also makes me restless. I toss and turn all night and feel like a sick old lady the next day. I have a 5 and 6 year old and Im starting to feel like this medicine is just taking the life out of me. I feel almost depressed. I know that health wize I need it to shrink or keep my tumor from growing, but I sometimes think that Id rather produce milk and deal with slight headaches. At least the symptoms of my prolactoma don't make me feel the way Bromocriptine does. Also I had a much higher sex drive before I started taking this medicine.
I will try to wait out the storm and see if the side effects subside, however I know I will discontinue if they do not. I cannot live my life tied down by a medicine that makes me feel like I'm dying.
BROMOCRIPTINE MESYLATE (BROMOCRIPTINE MESYLATE): Bromocriptine is used alone or with other medications (such as levodopa) to treat Parkinson's disease. It can improve your ability to move and can decrease shakiness (tremor), stiffness, slowed movement, and unsteadiness. It may also decrease the number of episodes of not being able to move ("on-off syndrome"). Bromocriptine is also used to treat high levels of a certain hormone made by the body (prolactin). High levels of prolactin may cause problems such as unwanted breast milk, missed/stopped periods, difficulty becoming pregnant, decreased sperm production, and decreased sexual ability. Bromocriptine may be used to treat a type of tumor which causes the high levels of prolactin (prolactin-secreting adenomas). It can help to reduce the tumor size. Bromocriptine is not recommended for stopping unwanted breast milk after pregnancy, miscarriage, or abortion because of possible serious side effects (such as high blood pressure, seizure, heart attack, stroke). Bromocriptine is also used to treat high levels of growth hormone (acromegaly). Bromocriptine is an ergot medication that works by acting like a certain natural substance (dopamine) in the brain. It also prevents the release of certain hormones (growth hormone, prolactin). Bromocriptine can lower these hormone levels, but it does not cure the causes of the increased levels. It was fine at first, didnt really see much of a change but recently I have been extremely bloated and Iv been feeling sick when I eat, also my breasts have gone up 2 cup sizes and I have put a stone on since I started on it.Although it is very helpful because I have a long-term serous boyfriend, I am starting to get a bit fed up of feelig like rubbish.

I was rear-ended four times this year and I now have 4 bulging discs and two pinched nerves in my lower back. Have had three epidurals and am facing surgery - constant pain in my lower legs. Have been on vicodin, percocet, Valium, flexeril, cymbalta. Nothing helped. Lyrica works! I got 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep for the first time this year. I can walk during the day without excruciating pain! I just hope it continues to work.
took it for Knee pain and went into anti falactic shock and was rushed to the hospital, it started with iching and then swelling of the feet hands then i couldnt talk then I COULD NOT BREATH NICE WAY TO SPEND A DAY THINKING YOU GOING TO DIE.
Lyrica decreased my fibro pain level from a 8/9 to a 5/6.That was on 50mg X2 daily.I had some side effects such as increased hunger,but it was managable until it was increased to 100mg x2 daily.I have gained weight because I am now ravenously hungry.I can eat until I'm sick and I still want to eat more!!!!I also now have blurred vision and puffiness in my face,hands and feet.And the increased dose from 4 weeks ago has not further improved my symptoms.So I lowered my dose on my own to 50mg x2 daily.My original dose.I'm glad I have some relief,but I cannot afford to gain more weight.My doctor said that weight gain was unlikely.Every review and/or forum I have been on has had the majority of users complaining of weight problems.The pharmaceutical companies certainly downplay the weight gain because who would take a med if you were told you will gain at least 10-20 pounds and the liklihood of more if you read the same reviews I've seen.
