BEYAZ (DROSPIRENONE; ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; LEVOMEFOLATE CALCIUM): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: drospirenone (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen). It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. This product also contains a folate supplement (such as l-methylfolate, levomefolate). Folate is a B-vitamin that women of childbearing age use to help prevent spinal cord birth defects in an unborn baby. The folate supplement in this medication, along with a diet rich in folate, lowers this risk if you become pregnant while taking this drug or soon after you stop taking it. This medication also may be used to treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) or moderate acne if you have chosen to use birth control pills as your method of pregnancy prevention. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, and may decrease blood loss, painful periods, and the risk of ovarian cysts. i realize that your body does adjust to this drug, however the side effects are really not even worth it. i'm finding another pill ASAP
I have noticed my morning fasting BS are lower than they had been. I had tried ozempic and that was way worse (stomach upset). Going to give it a few more weeks. I feel the needles are very painful. More so than ozempics were.
This medication is very dangerous, I tapered off for over two months and then stopped because I was still feeling side effects as I was tappering off and here it is more then 4 months later and I am still feeling the effects, every part of my body aches, I am very tired all the time, hard to sleep because I ach so bad. If I go to my Dr. he will put me on another medication for the aches and I am trying alternitives at this time. I have always walked and I cannot any more because I hurt so bad, after. So now I am putting on weight. At this point I am at a loss I have been to the chroprator and he did not help. I do not know who can help me at this point. I am affaid I am doing some damage to my body because I ach so bad all the time. Please can anyone help me.
The first month is somewhat an experience, with varing degrees of dizziness, nausea, headaches and a feeling of not-being-right.
This drug stopped my delusions that people were taking over my husband's body and talking to me thru him. I slept very well on this drug, but had some discomfort with having a stuffy nose (especially at night). Initially, I became very focused and was able to get a lot of work done with no paranoia/fears. After several months though, I became void of emotions, had difficulty in following a conversation or contributing to one. I did not smile or laugh anymore and had zero sexual interest or feelings. I felt much less intelligent. I was extremely hungry, but was able to lose weight by staying on a 1200 cal/day diet and exercising.
I've only been on this med for 7 days. Previously tried Depakote, but didn't like the associated weight gain and frightening depression. My profession does not allow for sluggish thought processes. I'll give it more time, but am a bit discouraged by the feedback of others.
My husband was taken off nitro patches and put on this drug. We don't know if this is the drug that has been causig low-grade constant headaches orr if it's a combo of this plus xarelto and aricept, or if the cause is one of the these other drugs. Has anyone else had headaches from this drug? Also, ringing in the ears and low energy.
Cold sweats, memory loss, hair loss.
hair loss, extreme weight gain, depession, mood swings,sporatic periods that would last 1-3 months, severe acne,anxiety, loss of sex dive, pregnancy resulting in miscarriage.
Increased appetite, weight gain, reduced sex drive, bloating, mood swing. Acne!!!! Lots of them and won't go away!!!!
