Side Effects for Betapace af (sotalol hydrochloride)
I have experienced headaches and hypertension (prescribed Teveten for HBP/happens late afternoon and just waiting for results of 24hr urine test) also diabetic controlled by diet)Iam wondering if iam suffering from Hyperinsulnemia. Can anyone throw any light on this? Has anyone had the problem of high BP at this time of day?
BETAPACE AF (SOTALOL HYDROCHLORIDE): This medication is used to treat a serious (possibly life-threatening) type of fast heartbeat called sustained ventricular tachycardia. It is also used to treat certain fast/irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation/flutter) in patients with severe symptoms such as weakness and shortness of breath. Sotalol helps to lessen these symptoms. It slows the heart rate and helps the heart to beat more normally and regularly. This medication is both a beta blocker and an anti-arrhythmic. the med has helped uti, but the coincidental (?) side effects are unnerving enough to check out drug on internet! Debating on taking remainder of 10 day Rx.

Pressure pain in head and headaches
At first I didn't notice any side effects. Was taking lisinopril at the same time. Due to the cough side effect of the lisinopril, changed to atenolol and hydrochlorothiazide but the joint pain became so severe that I couldn't sleep, so I stopped taking it, but continued with the atenolol. Within days the joint pain stopped.
My biggest problem is that my neurologist refuses to believe that lamictal has anything to do with my cognitive problems and attributes them to anxiety--even though testing shows that I've had a 30 point in IQ. I've always had anxiety but it never intefered with my work. I've had to leave my job as a professor. When I try to find the side effects of lamictal I can't find actual medical studies about cognitive effects although many people report them.

It works! The best drug that works against my cough. I had given up on cough meds because codine didn't do the trick. The sleepiness is was OK because I had been up about a week with little sleep, due to the cough.It's expensive and no generics are available, but it works much better than hydrocodone/homatropine mixes for me. I think it is the extended time release -- I could feel it kicking in several times over the 12 hours.Before when I've taken hydrocondone/homoatropine, I felt paranoid/anxious -- but not with this stuff.
