ACZONE (DAPSONE): This medication is used to treat acne. It helps decrease the number and severity of acne pimples and helps pimples that do develop to heal more quickly. Dapsone is an antibiotic. It is not known how dapsone works to treat acne. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Our daughter was on this for about four months. We noticed she seemed depressed, but didn't connect it to the drug. Then after three months off the medication (during which she was an angel and as happy as can be), we resumed her daily dose of Flovent and she instantly nose-dived. Acute onset of ocd, tics, hallucinations, mania--none of which she had previously experienced. We were terrified, until we found this site. She's now been off the medication for thirteen days. The hallucinations quickly subsided. The ocd, tics, and mania are still there, but diminished. We are hoping our daughter makes a full recovery very soon (we have read that mania can often last up to three weeks after medication is stopped), and we're extremely disappointed that our peditrician assured us repeatedly that there was no systemic absorbtion of Flovent.

In the 4th week became very itchy all over, hives, random lip swelling, looked like I got in a fight and was punched in the mouth. Also headaches, joint pain and a feeling like there is a knot in my chest like I swallowed a large marbel that's stuck and won't go down. Diarrhea, abdominal pain.

In the beginning; insomnia, dry mouth, anxiousness, brain shakes; when closing my eyes I would see weird shapes. Now; exhaustion, weight gain.
I took Risperdal for 5 months, having just gone off of it within the past month. The medication caused me to gain 30 pounds and i suffered from twitches, normally in my eyes, but also occurred throughout my body.
Cramps, heavy bleeding, emotions.
This drug will take you to hell, and if you're lucky, back. 2 years on and still suffer panic attacks with weekly psychotherapy sessions. Traumatic experience. You'd rather be dead.
