DIOVAN HCT (HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE; VALSARTAN): This drug is used to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This product contains two medications: valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Valsartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. It's 4 days later and I'm still suffering bad stomach pains and headache. I am an athlete in extremely good shape and have been clean/sober for 14 years, so my body is absolutely not used to any chemicals. I feel weak, wobbly, nauseous, and lethargic. When will this end? I'm so miserable!
This medication gives me a feeling of calmness. So far, I have been taking between .5mg to 1mg in the morning and it makes me feel human again. However, I am afraid of becoming dependent upon the drug and I really want to avoid that....but if this is what I need for a period of time then, thank goodness it is available to me for just that purpose. My body lets me know when it needs the next dose.
Insomnia is the worst part, spacey, jittery
I don't think this drug should be given to patients with a history of anxiety or depression as it increases these problems immensely

I hated this. I am getting off of it right away after reading this site. I have all the same side effects as everyone else. It is terrible and i wouldnt recommend it to anyone. I was always on time to work and this birth control negatively affected this, i was always late.

No problems. The drink was okay to say the least. I drank it and didn't think it was bad as most people said it was. Wimps to say the least. The only side effect I had was what the doctor said the drink would induce(Stooling). Other than that, it was what had to be done to get the procedure done the next day. They found no polyps and all was well. I'm fifty years old.
