BENICAR HCT (HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE: OLMESARTAN MEDOXOMIL): This drug is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This product contains two medications: olmesartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. I would fall asleep about 5to 10 minutes after taking first dose,mouth extremely dry and bp stayed elevated.
So far, Imuran has been OK, but I am concerned about long term side effects. Hopefully I wont have to take it too long
If you have Bipolar Disorder Type 1 and have periods of high mania, you may experience the same thing I did.
I have suffered from allergies all my life and this is the most effective drug I have ever used. After just one dose it eased my symptoms and it has literally changed my life. I can sleep, I can breathe, my eyes are no longer irritated all the time. Best drug ever.
Excessive daytime sleepiness/ADD
This medication should be pulled off the market. Why isn't this checked by the FDA? I will never take any type of medication for this condition, I will just keep eating healthy, taking my supplements--Calcium, Vitamin, fish oil, and checking with the health food store for alternative supplements
Vomiting! Fatigue, about 3pm I'd hit a wall! Just feel absolutley worn out and start yawning like crazy. Then about 7pm I'd be FULL of energy and not able to sit still.
I suspect this is one of those drugs that does more harm than good, and that the drug company has underreported the incidence and variety of side effects.
Did the job of curing the infection yet i'm pretty happy to be over with it.
