Loss of tastebuds which has happened in the past when taking this drug everything tastes metallic.
Nausea, abdominal pain, headaches, anxiety, crying, depression, sweating, temperature fixation, eye pain.
DO NO TAKE. A horrible drug. Should be banned. This a poisonous drug. I no longer trust my doctor or fda. I nearly had a seizure stopping this drug. Should have tapered had I know bit my dr said it was okay to stop cold turkey..WRONG. my nervous system is still off and also have burning skin and scalp. POISON.
Irregular heart beats, confusion ,pain on right side of stomach ,which caused doctors to think I had bile stones. ( I did not have stones ).Lost well over 20 lbs. Cannot eat or sleep. Depressed ,Pain in back ,legs and neck. Dizzy ,finger joints are very painful .
The longer I took this crazy medication the worst, I felt and the more problems I started having. Have stopped taking this medication and hoping these issues will not take to long go away.
Where should I start with my side effects: my cardiologist prescribed for GERD on 2/11 I started taking 2/12. I was also taking amitriptyline for migraines so when my head started to feel like it would explode I thought it was from the amitriptyline so I casled the neurologist to have another meds prescribed. My symptoms started with terrible headaches, anxiety my head feels like it's about to explode, my heart feels like it's about to stop beating and I can't sleep I'm afraid to fall asleep.when I lie on my back it's worst very terrifying experience. Couple of weeks ago I had to go to ER I was taking me drool so I tought the sh owners from that. They kept me overnight said I was fine, my cardiologist checked out my ekg said I was fine. At the time I didn't think anything of the protonix. Then I came to this site and read people are experiencing the same symptoms like me. My head feels like it's going to explode from the pressure. PROTONIX IV (PANTOPRAZOLE SODIUM): Pantoprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. This medication relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. It helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Pantoprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). The injection form of this drug is used for a short time when you cannot take the medication by mouth. It worked really well for about 2 weeks, I was falling asleep within 15 minutes of taking it. After that I started doubling the dose I took, and even then it took me hours to fall asleep. It's really habit forming for me. Before I started taking it I could fall asleep on my own a few nights a week, and now I can't fall asleep without it at all.
Slightly high total cholesterol
Worked well for a while, not as many side effects for me as SSRIs. Then the stomach pain started and I got where I couldn't take it any more, with food or without.
I only took it at the lowest dosage for 4 days. I felt like my blood pressure may have been high, and felt shaky, so I discontinued. The shaky feeling didn't quite leave, but it wasn't that bad. But 5 months later, I thought I'd give it another try. Again the same thing, but this time the tremor was worse. I've been off of it for 3 1/2 months and still feel tremor especially in my face, but also everywhere else. Before this I had been working hard at learning to play the piano. This is not fun when your hands and arms shake, so I've quit. I'm a little self consciense that people will notice the shaking in my face when I smile, so I don't as much. I'm not sure if this is ever going to go away.

Hives all over the body,swelling on the scalp, palms and feet
dizziness, feeling like i took too much nyquil or something, flu-like slight soreness in the body, cloudy thoughts, dry mouth, achy stomach, loss of appetite, couldnt really sleep, and increased anxiety as a result of it all.
I've taken the drug several times for respiratory infections. It works well and I don't have any side effects.
