NEXIUM (ESOMEPRAZOLE MAGNESIUM): Esomeprazole is used to treat certain stomach and esophagus problems (such as acid reflux, ulcers). It works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. It relieves symptoms such as heartburn, difficulty swallowing, and persistent cough. This medication helps heal acid damage to the stomach and esophagus, helps prevent ulcers, and may help prevent cancer of the esophagus. Esomeprazole belongs to a class of drugs known as proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). If you are self-treating with this medication, over-the-counter esomeprazole products are used to treat frequent heartburn (occurring 2 or more days a week). Since it may take 1 to 4 days to have full effect, these products do not relieve heartburn right away. For over-the-counter products, carefully read the package instructions to make sure the product is right for you. Check the ingredients on the label even if you have used the product before. The manufacturer may have changed the ingredients. Also, products with similar brand names may contain different ingredients meant for different purposes. Taking the wrong product could harm you. I was prescribed coumadin after developing a DVT in my right leg. Further tests show that I have a protein C deficiency which means I will require life long therapy. I have taken this drug for over a year now and the side effects seem to be getting worse. After reading comments on this sight I feel a little more confident about insisting that my family doc refer me to a hemotologist. I was told that this drug has no side effects....well we all can't be wrong. If you also are being treated with this drug due to a protein c deficincy I would love to hear from you. In the beginning of this year, I pleaded that I must get off this drug, fore it no longer helped my situation, and had become tolerant of Lexapro. My psychiatrist first suggested I cold turkey it. (obviously a bad Idea) From previous experiences, missing only a single daily dose would have me sick as a dog, with sweats, migraines, nausea, cramping, twitching, and a general "hangover feel." So I told him I could not. Then he suggested weaning off. I went down from 10mg daily to 5mg.. . Over the next three weeks I prayed for the courage to kill myself. In a single week after 2 ER trips and a CAT scan for abdominal pain, burning and stinging eyes, nausea, vomiting, severe, diarrhea, inability to eat, drink, sleep from the pain, I eventually recovered; though I had to drop out of school for personal illness.I have never in my life suffered as severely as such.. . I wish I never met the drug. Now back on 10mg a day, I am a slave to it, fearful to wean back off.
Thankfully, read comments on here & realised it wasn't just me but the medication. I am now having acupuncture & Chinese herbs, which are working very well for my digestion & has also stopped my anxiety attacks.
I have been on adderall XR & instant. We tried to switch it up with Vyvanse and It was awful. I was open to this medication and had high hopes for it based on what information I was given. However, within days this medicine had me in a full blown depressive episode with no motivation to even take care of myself or do anything. My brain was quiet but numb and dark and my body was physically in pain. I felt weak and the jaw pain was EXCRUCIATING. I had to stop on the 6th day. It was 6 days of hell and the first day not taking it - I feel like a completely different person. Stay self aware on this - that's the only reason I didn't try to push past symptoms. I strongly say RUN from this drug. It may work for some but the damage it did In a matter of days seems absolutely insane.
If your doctor tells you to take Dilantin, no matter how you feel, continue. Don't forget to take this medication, take it daily. The good news is once your used to it you should be able to take it once a day, in the morning. I went from a failure at high school to becoming a dispatcher for a huge company. i also wrote programs for the company. This is all due to the help of dilantin. Once your on your level you will find that if something very important is about to come up such as a meeting, one extra pill will zoom you in and focus you. Agree with this medication and you may be seizure free for years.
Will never use this again! I would rather use Monistat. I literally felt like I was going to die!! Be very careful if you are prescribed this.
Helped with seasonal allergies but terrible behavior problems as a result. Like so many parents on this site, we never put 2 and 2 together. His teacher pulled me aside today for the 2nd time in 2 weeks to discuss increasing behavior problems and even aggressive behavior. We all think our kids are the best but this one really is a kind natured kid, NEVER before have I been told he is hitting other kids. The teacher felt like he just can’t help himself and was concerned. This site has totally freaked me out. I feel terrible, all the discipline and frustration and it’s a side affect. Increased appetite is something we saw a long time ago. I’m VERY disappointed with the doctors for not having us be on the lookout for this.
