Ovral-28 (ethinyl estradiol; norgestrel) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Ovral-28 (ethinyl estradiol; norgestrel)

Headache, mood swings, low sex drive

i was taking lo-ovral. i experienced continuous yeast infection symptoms, extreme depression, feelings of rage and irrationality, acne, 10 pound weight gain, constant irregular discharge, urinary tract discomfort, change in urine production

immediately stopped taking it when i realized that the extreme discomfort from the continuous yeast infection i had was from this drug. it made me feel extremely depressed and unlike myself. will eventually switch brands after giving my body a "break"

A little break through bleeding the first 2-3 months. Some anxiety at random times, bad acne (on chest, back and neck too). Rollercoaster emotions. Depression. Joint/Body aching.

I take this continuously to try and combat my endometriosis. However, when the side effects get to be too much, I have to take a break. I does work great and do its job to keep me from bleeding, but I do worry about long term effects, and how I will keep up dealing with side effects. I'm very annoyed with the acne, especially as a 28 year old!

Acne face/body, anorexia, changes texture of skin, made skin oily and bumpy.

This gave me my energy back, but it made me look like a hormonal teenager. Too bad because I loved otherwise. The packaging is bulky and ugly though, it is in shape of a race track.

Overly emotional at times, increased anxiety (felt in the chest and neck)

I'm actually taking LoOvral but they don't have it listed. I was on Ortho-Tri Lo but that totally dimolished my sex drive! LoOvral has really helped restore it but the downside is more anxiety.

Left side of face around nose, eye and upper jaw went completely numb. Doctor said stop using immediately. I'm in my 4th off med and face is still numb. Med also caused fatigue and loss of appetite. It may have caused anxiety but I have twin 5 year old girls so I'm always anxious. Patiently waiting and hoping numbness will go away. It feels exactly like a shot of Novocain from the dentist. However 4 days and still numb is quite disconcerting

I believe the FDA should study this more or whoever approved this stuff.

Dizziness may not seem like a big deal, sleeping on the floor because I am too dizzy to stand without falling. There have been times where I was sitting and even that was too much. I've been tying my hair back, something I never do, just in case I have to run and puke. I've been taking non-optional five hour long naps or longer and then staying up all night. I have headaches all the time and get freezing cold chills very suddenly. Also, I have felt like I've been losing my mind hearing things and having absurd thoughts. I have been on this drug for four days out of the ten I am supposed to be on it and I feel like I want to kill myself. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn't be able to stand long enough to get the job done because I am so dizzy. I would recommend this drug to absolutely no one as it is one messed up trip the entire time you're on it. However, it does seem to be clearing up the infection, so there's that. But to be honest, I'd rather go without the Keflex even if I can't eat or drink because my tonsils got too big to swallow. That would be a better alternative than taking these pills. Which, by the way, smell and taste like rancid bacon.

My son has been on Strattera for almost a year. What a difference! His grades have come up, his mood has stablized, he gets along so much better with other children...it's been a miracle drug!

great bc, could not even tell that I was on anything except that it was very effective

Occasional dry mouth/eyes, very mild drowsiness

Dizziness, tiredness, weight loss.

possible endometriosis, cramps

Immediately after taking it I felt very drowsy so I laid down and tried to go to sleep. It then took me a half hour to fall asleep. Once I fell asleep I woke up about a half hour later and felt very restless and fidgety. It was almost like my feet wanted to run a marathon. I then fell back asleep and woke up about every hour after that with the same thing. It was very uncomfortable.

I took my 1st dose Sunday evening, right after dinner. I went in to Urgent Care to relief the pressure I was feeling around my eyes. I woke up early Monday morning, 4-5am, with my heart racing and soon to be the worst dry heaving experience of my life. I was sweating so bad and was shaking uncontrollably! I did this about 4x. Later in the day, I felt feverish, with the worst body aches, and super groggy! I called back my Urgent Care doctor and he told me I had the flu. I suggested switching my antibiotic and never had those symptoms again!!! It was not the flu, but the antibiotic. Do yourself a favor, do not take this medication!!!
