This drug made me so sick. I was nauseous every day for six weeks. I couldn't even function. Horrible experience.
My body did not respond well to this pill. I felt moody, miserable next day when I took it. This medication made me "crazy." I had nausea, rapid pulse, headache, decreased sex drive

Took first dose late yesterday morning after a late breakfast. It knocked me out within 30 min. & I slept 2 hours. After waking up, I had severe nausea & a bad headache. Off & on that evening I was "spacey" and moved very slow, but I knew what was going on. This morning, I did not hear my alarm go off for work, woke up 1 1/2 later, called boss, told her what was going on & was only late 30 min. I am typing this slowly & I barely know what's going on. My boss is checking on me... This is one strange, bad drug. Needless to day, I won't take another one & I hope it wears off soon.
weak, vomiting, shallow breathing, "out of body" experience, itching, heart racing, could not concentrate, constipation and stomach ache, feeling very high for hours on end
if taken at night time, i sleep in late and have a very hard time getting up.
It did reduce (but did not eliminate) pain in my leg due to surgery.
This prescription has as been our miracle!

UNBEARABLE stomach pains, with weakness, nausea on top of the general sore stomach all of the time.
Within a few days of using this drug, I noticed a headache, nausea and severe abdominal problems. I started taking the drug at night and the nausea and headache stopped, I guess because I was sleeping! The diarrhea continues, but much less severe now. I have recently begun having a metallic taste in my mouth and have lost my sense of smell and taste. This is pretty annoying. I was wondering what was causing this so I happened upon this website. I hadn't associated it with the Arava until I read this, so I will be talking with my MD. I am taking the Arava along with 5 mg of prednisone and have found a ton of relief! I wonder, though, if it's from the prednisone, because I had to get a steroid injection every 3 months prior to starting the prednisone. I really need to get mroe proactive about my care since I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome and RA about 10 years ago and i've just been going with the flow and doing whatever the MD tells me. I am fortunate that I have never had any thinning of hair or rash, either with the MX or with the Arava.
