I got bad cramping when my period would be coming. My periods were regular and short. Did gain weight which is common with most/all birth control methods. I didn't struggle with acne and never have. I tend to get some pimples during my period but that has always been the case.
Awful awful depression, cried every day multiple times, didn't want to do anything. Had never had acne but developed awful painful zits
ALTAVERA (ETHINYL ESTRADIOL; LEVONORGESTREL): This combination hormone medication is used to prevent pregnancy. It contains 2 hormones: a progestin and an estrogen. It works mainly by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation) during your menstrual cycle. It also makes vaginal fluid thicker to help prevent sperm from reaching an egg (fertilization) and changes the lining of the uterus (womb) to prevent attachment of a fertilized egg. If a fertilized egg does not attach to the uterus, it passes out of the body. Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and also treat acne. Cramping, diarrhea, gas, bloating; strange and vivid dreams
My grandmother was prescribed this medicine for pain. She is elderly but her mind has always been very sharp. Shortly after taking this her speech was slurred and she forgot who and where she was. She said very strange things and became very scared. It was scary for all of us. It was obviously the medicine that did this to her. The only way I know to describe it is she had psychotic outbursts.
Increased appetite, PMS symptoms (headaches and cramps), mild nausea.

I experienced EXTREME lower back pain after using this drug which ususlly will go away in a few days. Read side effects prior to using.

This drug did not provide ANY noticeable pain relief. Instead, I experienced headaches, drowsiness, mild depression, numbness and feeling "stoned."
Extreme bloating, random harsh cramps, increase on my headaches and tiredness (I already had headaches and tiredness from my accutane) moderate to severe dizziness, weakness, & nausea.
I have been very anxious about different aspects of mine and my families lives. I always wondered "what if something happens?" 've only taken 1 monthly dose (150 mg) and did so according to the instructions. Can only hope the pain will decrease as this "JUNK" gets out of my system. Do not take this mediciation! As usual, the FDA has released yet another drug that has severe side effects.
