Side Effects for Lanoxin (digoxin)

Terrible Facial Swelling, Mental Confusion, Irritability.GSK BRING BACK LANOXICAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not experience any side effects while taking Lanoxicaps.ON LANOXIN, I FELT TERRIBLE. GSK,PLEASE PUT THE PATIENT FIRST - RATHER THAN PROFITS - BRING BACK LANOXICAPS FOR US CHF PATIENTS!!!!!!!!!

I was put on digoxin and spironlactone (water pill) at the same time when I was diagnosed with CHF. Due to the water pill I peed 11 lbs of water the first 24 hours I was on it, and could finally sleep flat and not sitting up on 4 pillows. it was glorious to curl up in a little ball with no irregular heart beat and just sleep! one thing i learned is that it is imperative to drink enough water while on digoxin, as if you don't, it can turn into a poison and you can slip into a coma, especially if exercise is involved on say a hot day. so drink plenty of water plus other liquids. blood tests to check your digoxin blood levels are also imperative, it must be at a certain level to work effectively. My blood levels have just gotten too low and I have been having heart problems again.

occasional yellow halos around objects, dosage @ 0.125mcg switched to digitek, possible drug reaction to warfarin and/or my other drugs, I'm drug sensitive

None at the beginning, then, after 6 months, I am experiencing some regular pounding in the chest and anxiety for 3 days recently. Going to call cardiologist.

Helped with atrial flutters, they are not as painful and don't last as long.

suden confusion, not able to walk, tachicardia that was worse than without taking it

chf; arrythmia; svt ; cardiomyopath

its made a big differene in the symptoms i used to notice as well as keeping my heart beating at a healthy pace (not too fast for me). sometimes an extra dose (dr tells me to take via phone consult)keeps me out of the ER- which we all hate! :)

Mom was given Lanoxin, within 4 days she had stomach problems, nausea, diarrhea, was anxious/nervous and was mental slow. It took 2 weeks of contacting the doctor and a week in the hospital to convince the doctors that her problem was caused by the pill - not age. Within 2 days of stopping the pill, she started to feel better.

The doctors said it created a toxic gas in her stomach causing the nausea and not eating feeling. At first the doctors said she was just not wanting to eat but.. Note: Please ensure you take care of your elderly family members and listen to their comments. Get to know what medications they are on, what is changed and why and help them find a solution to their health problems.

Had reaxtion years ago but was put back on it about 12 years now I am 78 wonder if it is doing any good now

0.25 mg controlled atrial fib for a long time

LANOXIN (DIGOXIN): Digoxin is used to treat heart failure, usually along with other medications. It is also used to treat certain types of irregular heartbeat (such as chronic atrial fibrillation). Treating heart failure may help maintain your ability to walk and exercise and may improve the strength of your heart. Treating an irregular heartbeat can decrease the risk for blood clots, an effect that may reduce your risk for a heart attack or stroke. Digoxin belongs to a class of medications called cardiac glycosides. It works by affecting certain minerals (sodium and potassium) inside heart cells. This reduces strain on the heart and helps it maintain a normal, steady, and strong heartbeat. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

I started having itchy welts and what I thought were zits on my forehead and cheeks about a year before going to the Derm. He dignosed it as papulopustular rosacea. I also had some eye problems, mostly around my lower eye lids. I started taking the Oracea and within a week my face was significantly better. The itching has almost completely stopped and I rarely have any welts. I had forgotten what it was like to not have mosquito bite-like welts all over my face. I've been on it for about 90 days. I worry what will happen when I stop taking it. Other than that, this stuff has been a god send.

Nausea, constipation, headaches, bloating, weight gain

dry and itchy eyes, heartburn, burning throat, nausea.

avoid taking this. please. i thought it was just me being a pig because I am one of those people that think birth control can't actually make people fat. It made me think about food twice as much as i usually do. I switched over to levora and i began to feel happier and lost weight. I even confirmed it was the microgestin when i accidentally took the extra microgestin for a month again, because i ran out of levora and wasnt paying attention. DO NOT TAKE!

Concerning my stretch marks that I have on my stomach. I know that they did not form naturally because they started to show in the form of a ring around my belly button! The stretch marks have gotten much worse, to the point where I cannot wear a bikini to the beach which is very disappointing. Naturally I get depressed about my self image since I have weighed more than I currently weigh yet when I look at my stomach I feel like I look horrible. I have tried using cocoa butter and Mederma to treat my stretch marks but I desperately hope that once I change my birth control the stretch marks will calm down and the theraputic lotions that I use will have a greater effect. I do not suggest this type of birth control and I personally feel stupid for taking it. I have been on depo for about a year and I'm 19. I wish I wasn't as against pills but the shot is given too much credit in regards to my personal opinion that I formed from my experience. Perhaps the shot works better with others but I think that other than preventing pregnancy this shot created more problems than solutions. Therefore I don't advise others getting depo, even though the convenience makes the shot sound very appealing.

Severe stomach pain and bloating after 3 doses.

Taken early it makes me tired later in the day. Dry mouth. And feel weak. But its not so bad i cant have a good day. Possibly raised blood pressure a little. Not for sure though.

still wake up in middle of night, can fall back to sleep easier, am dreaming more vividly

I recommend taking it at night.

I WOULD RECOMMEND leg pain sufferers take the pill in the morning with breakfast. I am a 76 yr old male, in excellent phys condition, going to gym every other day. Do elliptical trainer for 30 mins, then weights for 15 mins. Can't tolerate statins, but no sign of arterial occlusion.
