NORVASC (AMLODIPINE BESYLATE): Amlodipine is used with or without other medications to treat high blood pressure. Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Amlodipine belongs to a class of drugs known as calcium channel blockers. It works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Amlodipine is also used to prevent certain types of chest pain (angina). It may help to increase your ability to exercise and decrease the frequency of angina attacks. It should not be used to treat attacks of chest pain when they occur. Use other medications (such as sublingual nitroglycerin) to relieve attacks of chest pain as directed by your doctor. I'm no longer taking this medication.
I tried to go off of this for over 30 days and the withdraw was pure hell! Your brain feels like it is being sqeezed by a vice.I would advise anyone to not take this drug! You can't laugh and you can't cry, like a teflon coating over your brain. Lexapro is much, much better

Highly addictive, but got me off my 20 ciggies a day habit. Chain chewing 2mg (I bite them in half to make 1mg). Been on it 10 years now, and psyching myself up to weaning off it due to links with nicotine and IBS.
I have so far Gained from this medicene. I do find myself bored alot. but I live in the country an its quite here.
I started taking lexapro and could instantly tell my moods were getting better, but the downfall is that I weighed 125 consistantly and now I am up to 137. I get cravings constantly but I have been off the meds for almost 3 weeks now. I work out like a maniac but I see no results so I am getting a bit discouraged. How long does this stuff take to get out of my system and when will my appetite go back to normal?

i took 2 shots (so thats 6 months) it was the second shot that had me feeling bad. i notice the 5 month i was have severe panic attacks thats when i said OMG NEXT MONTH IM NOT TAKING IT.i prayed and ask God to guide me as i was going to take my 3 shot MY SYMTOMS STARTED TO FLEAR UP and when they do i swear its like you feel like ur EYES ARE SHUTTING DOWN and u feel like ur disconnected from your bodyI ended up COULDNT GETING THE SHOT CUZ I FELT SO BAD(PANIC ATTACKS) so i called my mum from the clinic and said come get me i cant wait here any longerI JUST WAS TAKING IT CUZ I HEARD BIRTHCONTROL HELPS ACNE AND IT DID I DIDNT BREAK OUT ONE BIT BUT OMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGG I CUD ONLY IMAGINE IF I TOOK THE 3RD SHOT THANK GOD I DIDNT.
Gee, I wish this drug supressed my appetite like the other posters!! This is the only drug that keeps my sinuses dry and my allergies under control. I am trying to avoid sinus surgery so if I stay dry, I don't get infected. I sleep like a baby also, and I take this EVERY DAY!! The only thing that I avoid is Walgreen's generic version of this med - it is awful - time release must be faulty. CVS and Walmart's versions are made by Andrx and work much better.
