Nausea from smell. One caplet was crushed. Pharmacist said original source of Rx smelled as well.

Cartia xt manufactured by Actvavis Pharmacy. Ordered new Rx Dilitizem CD from Par pharmacy.

heart palps and blood pressure

Worse GI symptoms. Extreme heartburn and chestpain, 24 hours a day. I am assuming due to acid reflux. Everything was great on 180mg for years. Doctor upped to 240 mg because bp systolic a little high (only in doctors office.)

Worked fine until menopause. Then I started having time-released hot flashes every 20 minutes around the clock.

Always got a headache wherever body overheated or was stressed

Take a 240 mg capsule twice daily

impairs my thinking and reactions, depression, sense of smell reduced

120 mg/day. This drug does stop those extra beats; BUT my thinking is not as clear as it used to be, i'm dried out and my sense of smell is reduced so that there's less taste to food, tired more than usual and somewhat depressed, psoriasis is exacerbated. I tried a beta blocker (Metroprolol Succinate) but psoriasis symptoms were much much worse.

Trouble with thoughts-- impairs my thinking and reactions.

My insurance company switched me to the generic version (Cartia XT) and that is when my side effects started. The normal version of the drug (DILT-CO) seemed to work fine. Will speak w/my doctor on my next visit. Just a heads up for those of you like me that are having problems with thinking and organization of thoughts.

High blood pressure / palpitations

Was taking 120mg once a day. lowered BP some, but did not control palpitations

CARTIA XT (DILTIAZEM HYDROCHLORIDE): Diltiazem is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and prevent chest pain (angina). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. When used regularly, diltiazem can decrease the number and severity of episodes of chest pain from angina. It may help increase your ability to exercise. Diltiazem is called a calcium channel blocker. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the body and heart so blood can flow more easily. Diltiazem also lowers your heart rate. These effects help the heart work less hard and lower blood pressure. I have not had any side effects the problem I have is decreasing the dosage my gynecologist told me to take it everyday and I have been doing this for over 2 years if I try to come down even buy one the symptoms reappear she did tell me to take a tablets to make me bleed every three months which I do take

Despite these side effects, Bactrim was a huge help! I was so sick prior to taking it and had an allergic reaction to another antibiotic that landed me in the ER. The side effects were nothing compared to the symptoms I was experiencing, and on the plus side, thanks to the dry mouth, I drank lots of water and stayed very hydrated! :)

swelling of hands, feet, ankles, legs, muscle pain in hands and knees and long term health effects

Diarhea, severe lower back pain, dry mouth and thirst,

terrible lethergy, pins and needles in fingers, pain in knuckles, hip pain and thigh pain

Anxiety, depression, tired, loss of appetite, couldn't focus, low libido, became reclusive.

no real loss of appitite agression alot having a little sister realy gets the agression and just drop of a pin ill go off on her i cant adgust from one setting to another to quickly

Anxiety through the roof! Head and eye pain.

I believe the med has helped the eczema symptoms, but the side effects are not worth the relief. I have noticed increased irritability and moodiness in my 6 year old daughter. It seems to be worse in the morning and evening. She seems fine at school, but with her sisters she is looking for a fight. She is the baby of the family and somewhat spoiled. This is still not normal behavior. We are stopping the med tonight. I hope we see results soon. If not, let the punishment begin!

Claritin may be highly touted but it was no better than Benadryl [makes me drowsy] or Sudafed [too speedy]
