I'm taking between 8-13 units a meal depending on carbohydrate count and glucose level at meal time.Novolin R has worked well for me. I am unable to take oral meds and victoza made me very sick. The number of shots per day is the main drawback.
NOVOLIN R (INSULIN RECOMBINANT HUMAN): Insulin regular is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. This man-made insulin product is the same as human insulin. It replaces the insulin that your body would normally make. It is a short-acting insulin. It works by helping blood sugar (glucose) get into cells so your body can use it for energy. This medication is usually used in combination with a medium- or long-acting insulin product. This medication may also be used alone or with other oral diabetes drugs (such as metformin). Seem to use less OTC eye drops than before. Wear contacts so able to wear them pretty comfortably around 8 hours. Not sure if the side effects weight out the benefits yet though.
Severe itching, hives all over my body
This is the worst drug.I wish my doctor had told me this was a possible side effect. It is devastating to lose this much hair.
Elevated intracranial pressure. Peripheral neuropathy, tendinopathy, joint pain, abnormally high blood sugar, anxiety, profound insomnia, elevated liver enzymes, tinnitis.
Terrible nausea, bloating, gas and urge to vomit.

I started with severe palpitations about 4 weeks ago. I am waiting for a 24 hour heart monitor to fitted. Also I'm suffering worse anxiety than normal and feeling Very low. I was googling palpitations last night and came across that decongestants can cause all these symptoms. I have thrown my bottle in the bin. Shame because it was brilliant for my hay fever
Hands and feet fall asleep very easily, anything carbonated tastes off, soda tastes horrible, Drowsiness but only for the first half hour after taking the drug. Has reduced pressure. Taking 500mg per day.
Overall I am very satisfied with the results of the medication.
