Humalog (insulin lispro) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Humalog (insulin lispro)

Excellent reduced my sugar levels to very normal range

Switched to Humalog from Apidra due to insurance coverage. Humalog seems to work about the same as Apidra. Dosage units seem to be equal.

Any other reason? Diabeties type 1

Low blood sugar at times. Bound to happen

way way better than novorapid (called novolog in the US)Blood sugar level (A1C) went from 7.4 to 6.5 without any effort.I was allergic to it before that is why I stopped taking it. Seems to have no problems now

I have gained some weight but no other side effects.

I use a sliding scale as provided by my doctor. I don't think it works well. 2 hours after eating, I tested my blood sugar at 210. I took 20 units of Humalog. 2 hours later, I was at 190. The drop in sugar was similar to what would happen with no meds.

My weight grow up a little bit

My history is not so happy. My diabetes happened when I was 29 years old, start true with a insulin resistence and frequently hypoglicemies, so I felt so much sympthoms like vertigos, nervousness, irritability, exhaustion, tremors, cold sweats, headaches, pain muscles, insomnia and so much more. This time my fat body is a little bit high because I taked any medications, like Vallium and fluoxetyne, I used this medicatin about 2 years and my Doctor told me that my precocious diabetes happened so much because my medications that caused so much insulin resistance wich colaborated with my problem. First step was stop with both and low my fat body. This can help that my diabetes didnĀ“t evoluted to a Insulin dependents, but was very later, was not possible and this is my words.

I take 30 units Lantus basal and 20-30 units Humalog per day. My A1c dropped from 13 to 6.4 in 3 months and now down to <6. I have energy, my Rheumatoid Arthritis has improved, my brain works again. Generally, it has been great.

During beginning of treatment, hypoglycemia and other unexpected sugar swings.

I'm still alive! It's hard to compare drugs when it's how you are still alive.

HUMALOG (INSULIN LISPRO): Insulin lispro is used with a proper diet and exercise program to control high blood sugar in people with diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Insulin lispro is a man-made product that is similar to human insulin. It replaces the insulin that your body would normally make. Insulin lispro starts working faster and lasts for a shorter time than regular insulin. It works by helping blood sugar (glucose) get into cells so your body can use it for energy. This medication is usually used with a medium- or long-acting insulin product. Insulin lispro may also be used with other oral diabetes medications (such as sulfonylureas like glyburide or glipizide). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

first, the side effects are to be expected and are worth trading in the bouts of depression. so don't be upset when things feel different. be thankful you are not depressed.side effects: (300 mg XL) increased sweating, vivid dreams, interrupted sleep, increased sex drive for sure, teeth grinding/jaw tension, frequent urination, feeling withdrawn/disconnected or flat about 3 times a week. this last side effect has been the hardest....emotions diluted, mood swings, etc. bouts of crying over losing the consistency of how i FEEL.

Weaning off this horror of a drug, is worse than having the disorders it is supposed to treat! Vertigo, continuous brain zaps, severe fatigue which, worsens when you already have Hashimoto's (thyroid disease). I started out at 75 mg. The very next day after taking my first and only pill, I lowered my dosage to 37.5. After feeling worse physically, I decided to split my pill with a splitter, and take 1/2 @ 12.5 mg. It has been a four day hell tour, since I stopped taking this "poison," altogether. I'm so dizzy, I am afraid to drive, let alone leave my home.

I completed the 7 days of this doxycycline time release drug for a sinus Infection which may or may not have been resolved. On the drug I experienced some headaches, nausea, and fatigue and insomnia. But the intense side effects happened AFTER I stopped taking it. This is day 7 off the drug and I am still having headaches, buzzing in my head, reduced appetite, GI issues and extreme fatigue. Afraid there is nothing to do but wait this out. I doubt any doctor will acknowledge doxycycline is the cause of my issues. The symptoms are similar to how I was feeling with the sinus infection yet different, especially the brain fog, pressure/buzzing in the head, and extreme fatigue.Anyone else found something that has alleviated side effects? Wishing you all a speedy recovery!

This drug started acting day 1....calming my mind and controlling my racing thoughts. Has alleviated my anxiety and lifted my mood enough to be productive again. I'm back to cooking and doing chores on a regular basis. I feel happier/ more focused at work and organization has improved. Only drawback is that there are nights that I CAN'T stay awake past 7pm. I take it with dinner around an hour later I feel like i've been roofied.

also taking prednisone and azithromycin

Doctor had me on 200 mg a day because that's what the PDR said to do. It was way too much. I started having problems with language. All of a sudden I couldn't spell and I would sometimes use the wrong word for objects.

I experienced a moderate decrease in my allergy symptoms. As others noted I also can't get enough to drink. If I decide to take it again it will not be before bedtime.

Could not control my urine flow...

First few weeks -Hightened anxiety, nightmares, tiredness, yawning, metalic taste, decreased apetite, racing thoughts, insomnia. All subsided at the begging of week 3! Stick it out. Be strong.

Gurgling tummy, still no looseness after 5hrs.
