The only side effect was blood sugar level was quickly brought down within one to two hours of taking to normal levels, 80 to 150. I could not take it on a regular basis because it helped control the sugars for several days to several weeks, so monitored for spikes and took as needed.
Unfortunately could no longer get from my doctor as there was a concern for renal failure in other patients.
I found out that my blood sugar was 479 and the Dr immediately put me on this medicine. At first I felt so tired, but after a few days it is tolerable. With no insurance at all, it cost 26.50 for a 30 day supply which was not that bad. I was told by pharmasist to use sun screen and do not prolong in the sun> Since I live in a beach town it is hard to stay out of the sun...but it does make you very sensitive to the sun!

After 3 days a very painful STYE appeared on my upper eyelid, lasted 8 days. Stopped taking Flonase immediately, and bought STYE EYE ointment. Will not use product again. Going to return to Rite-Aid. I have not had a STYE in 25-30 years...
Love it but don't like the weight gain. I have lost some of the weight I gained before and will keep watching my diet and working out.
It helps me sleep, and seems to help a little.
I only took one I didn't need another one to increase the negative side effects. I had to go to work the day I took it for the first time only to find out several people had similar side effects. Also only to find out they were still taking it but said they took it at night. This is not candy if you are experiencing these type of side effects don't play Russian roulette stop taking it. I would never recommend taking this pill there are other pills on the market or you could get allergy shots.
heart palpatations, "foggy" thinking, unusual hunger, vivid weird nightmares, anxious feelings, hip and lower back pain
constipation, upset stomach, muscle aches, and the last one was hives over my entire body
Speed up, dry mouth, not hungry, dizzy every time i got up, anxiety/panic..
I would not recommend this medication if you are concerned with gaining weight. My doctor did not mention this side effect to me when she prescribed it, and my weight shot up from 125 lbs to 165 lbs. Found myself hungry all the time. I became very depressed. Tired all the time. Certainly didn't work well for mood stabilizing.
