Very loose stools, loss of appetite, nausea, weight loss, loss of libido
Taking total 1500mg a day. When I initially started with one a day to work my way up, I was very overwhelmed with the constant diarreah and terrible nausea. Went on business trip for 2 weeks and decided to skip meds as it would make work more difficult. Came back and decided i needed to get to get back on as we are TTC and I have been having irregular periods for the past year. I have been working my way up slowly as the side effects are too much for me to handle. I am up to 2x a day working up to 3xday. I stuck out the nausea and disgust for food (which I LOVE) and now have reduced my appetite drastically. No carb and or sweet cravings which is FANTASTIC! I noticed my weight is going down. Only have lost about 3-4 pounds in the past couple weeks but I am extatic about it as I have been trying to lose weight so badly since the start of the year and barely lost 2 pounds with a low carb 1200 cal diet and exersize. Worst part is that my libido took a nose dive :-( Poor DH. I have not been working out as i should be but am thinking to get back to the gym and hopefully lose more weight as it can reverse the symptoms of PCOS. But all this diarreah, and nausea will be all worth it if i get my periods back and we can conceive to term. Here's to hoping and wishing you all luck
GLUMETZA (METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE): Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. I keep getting told that this drug does not cause weight gain but I find this hard to believe. In two months I have gained 10 kilos ( probably around 20 pounds ) and there is nothing else to justify this weight gain. I started running/walking 5km a day and still am gaining weight!!! I have also been itchy, broken out in pimples, depressed and find it hard to fall asleep.

This medication initially cleared my face quickly. I was completely clear in about a Wk but only lasted for A few wks. About the 3rd Wk into takingit my acne was back along with a horrible rash. I had a 30 day prescription but stopped taking after 3 wks due to the bad rash
For a lot of American women on birth control for years, I wonder if being prescribed this 1-2 times per year for 20 years has been too much. I never had allergic hives until after taking this for 14 years. We need a safer alternative, as I don't find monistat to be helpful anymore, or Yeast Arrest. And I take the pill for endometriosis repression. Sometimes, depending on when I take a yeast remedy in the cycle, it comes back, if I take it before the pill period.
He has less coughing, sleepyness, he ha been using it since he was two. Without it it is non stop coughing.
After years of medication and $30 thousand dollars of test. This is the only drug that allows me to finally feel normal, pain free no more coughing or acid waking me.
