Hurt my knee so have leg and knee pain. The Metformin made it worse. Sick to my stomach, pain, etc. So far no change in glucose levels. Told it takes longer.
I decided first to find out if I have Type 1.5 or Type II Diabetes. Metformin won't stimulate insulin if it is no longer there.
FORTAMET (METFORMIN HYDROCHLORIDE): Metformin is used with a proper diet and exercise program and possibly with other medications to control high blood sugar. It is used in patients with type 2 diabetes. Controlling high blood sugar helps prevent kidney damage, blindness, nerve problems, loss of limbs, and sexual function problems. Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Metformin works by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. I have read tons of reviews on this medication as I have been on Prozac, Zoloft, Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Buspar and Klonopin. I have experienced no weight gain, no sexual side effects whatsoever which is why I to write this review. This is the best anti-depressant I have ever taken. I take in the morning at 6:30 am with a little food because I have read many reviews with nausea as I side effect which I have not experienced. So far so good. If things change, I will repost to update changes.
I really have a hard time understanding doctors. Why in the world would my doctor give me a blood pressure lowrong medicine for anxiety. No help at for anxiety, in fact made it worse. Now all i need is trouble with blood pressure that i've never had. Told her it was no help and she still decided to keep me on it.After reading these reviews, i just flushed them all down the toilet and done with them.
Not sure if its helping my A1C...before I started taking it,my A1C was 7.5, and 4 months later its 8.1
So far, Imuran has been OK, but I am concerned about long term side effects. Hopefully I wont have to take it too long

I have taken it for 5 years. In December my blood pressure started climbing (always had very low blood pressure), I began having terrible headaches, dry eyes, cataracts, dry skin.
