I took this med for 8 years. In Nov.2012 I noticed both of my feet and ankles were swollen like tree trunks. I thought from too much tamales, PC put me on 40 mg Lasix,didn't help. Went to diab.doctor,he said the actos ingredient was causing the swelling. Then prescribed Actos 1x daily and metformin 500 mg 2x daily. I don't take the actos because of the foot and leg swelling from before. My aBS is now 140-170,not good,but I've been on steroids for two weeks for sinus infection. Also made me gain weight,with Acto PlusMet.

Proper control of diabetes may also lessen your risk of a heart attack or stroke. Pioglitazone belongs to a class of drugs known as thiazolidinediones or "glitazones". Metformin and pioglitazone work by helping to restore your body's proper response to the insulin you naturally produce. Metformin also decreases the amount of sugar that your liver makes and that your stomach/intestines absorb. Talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of using pioglitazone-containing products. I'm always being prescribed Levaquin when the zpack fails to do the job along with some form of steroid (I'm a severe asthmatic). I have a lot of medication allergies and health conditions and other than the random tinnitus that I get for a while after taking the medicine, and random aches and pains here and there, I have no complaints. Levaquin has helped me out when other antibiotics wouldn't. There are risks with any medications on the market, we as patients just have to decide if those risks are worth taking it.
Early on there was intermittent flushing. Pins and Needles and really felt like an uncomfortable sunburn. Usually subsides in about a half hour.
First & only time taking flexeril. Took at bedtime to relax muscles in order to get a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, it affected the entire next day as well.
I switched to this drug after having anxiety effects with Keflex. The first dose felt like I drank a strong cup of coffee, the second dose caused powerful anxiety and I had to stop.
Joint pain in my knees and ankles, disconcerting dreams (odd dreams not scary), light headache, mild neck and back pain (could be attributed to tension in sleep due to the unusual dreams).
