I was put on 25mg of Toprol to help control mild tachycardia (which I later found out was IST) and for the first 10 or so days I felt totally fine, but around day 11 I started feeling like my heart was barely beating and like I wasnt even alive. I'd take my blood pressure and it would be dangerously low. The scariest experience this drug has given me was I'd wake up out of a dead sleep nearly gasping for air and if I was drifting off, I'd also gasp and feel like I stopped breathing. Of course I didn't ever stop, but this drug certainly made it feel that way.
Horrible depression, shortness of breath, chest pain, unable to work out.
It worked for my arrhythmia but I couldn't tolerate the side effects.
Bloated stomach, stomach pain, constipation, extreme weakness, feeling nauseous, problems and decreased urination
My cardiologist recommended no need to wean off drug as long as I had previous afib drug on hand that I could take. He also stated if I had palpitations I should give him a call asap
Prescribed for BP & severe weakness
After only ONE pill I regained a lot of lost energy. That continues but I'm losing wads of hair and worried about my lack of energy. even though it's much improved. Dizziness on standing is dangerous. Will ask about reducing dosage.
It feels suspicious to go from literally leaning on walls to how I feel now overnight.
Hypertension and borderline MVP
Dizziness, blurred vision, weakness, lethargy, nausea, diarrhea, heartburn, bloating, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, body tremors, cold hands and feet, headache..etc
I hate this drug! I wish I had never taken any of it!
best beta blocker i have taken, and i have been on all of them.
Completely wiped out any form of emotion, was a shell of a person just doing my daiky motions
severe low back & both shoulder pain. nausea fatigue
last week I started taking 1/2 doses for 5 days & i am going cold-turkey tomorrow...I never had high bp nor irregular heart rate. I was told 'it's our protocol after all stent placements" It did not..It never reduced my heart rate & when I took my BP every morning it was consistently the same or higher than prior to the surgery!!!
Initially a good drug, helped with focus and anxiety as well as symptoms. Now have problems with insomnia, depression, lethargy, severe bloating, swollen ankles and 5 lb water weight gain. Nothing fits and now my liver enzymes are elevated.
This drug works, but has some significant and annoying side effects.
Several- eyesight changed, very swollen feet, ankles& legs, tiredness, insomnia,weight gain,rash (hives), itching, constipation, lightheadedness, runny nose.
Eyes get very heavy for the first cpl hours, took 5 days to actually take effect and lower my bp, by the 4th day been walking around in a dreamlike state nothing feels real kind of out of body experience, I have no emotions like happiness, joy, fullfillment. Just blah. Go back to the doc in a few days hopefully a different med
50mg daily, Constant sweating under arms, anxiety flushes through my body cause heart rate to increase, on the 13th day of taking had some pvcs (heart flutter). 14th dose I took in 2 halves and stopped. This med scares me to death.
I wish I new how long the withdrawal effects will last, even only on the med for 2 weeks is freaking me out.

TOPROL XL MADE BY AstraZeneca HAS IT'S GENERIC TO NOW LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME. I SPOKE WITH DISTRIBUTORS WHO CLAIMS ALL INGREDIENTS ARE THE SAME.WHO MAKES A GENERIC AND BRAND THE SAME NEVER HEARD OF THAT. THE DISTINCTION SHOULD BE CLEAR. IF ALL INGREDIENTS ARE THE SAME WHY AM I PAYING MORE FOR BRAND. THE FDA SHOULD NEVER ALLOW BRAND AND GENERIC THE LOOK THE SAME. wHAT BROUGHT THE WHOLE THING UP IS BP IS NOW HIGHER PULSE NOW HIGHER JUST LIKE IT WAS WHEN I TRIED GENERICS COINCIDENSE? DID THEY CHANGE THE FORMULAS TO MATCH THE GENERIC ? COME ON FOLKS WERE NOT TALKING ABOUT WART REMOVAL FORMULA WE ARE TALKING ABOUT HEART MED. INVESTIGATION HAS BEGUN
Dizzy,not feeling well after 2 wks,cut down. dose,felt ill heart rate way up,this med is unpredicable I can't seem to get the right dose,Dr is not helpful.
I took 1/2 of 25 mg for1mo,began having increased heart rate,started taking 25 mg helped for awhile,then dizzy and not feeling well,it's a vicious circle
Loss of energy, eyes are really sensitive.. Bad headaches.
I found this this morning after sleeping in for work.. this medicine is messing up my life.. I have no energy. Feel like shit when I first wake up everyday .. weird thoughts can't sleep ... feel worse now then I did be for I got on this.. I am going to end up loosing my job over this can't work on these meds.. I cannot get use to them..
Initially no side effects. In week 4 now and started having diahrrea soon after I take a dose. I'm only on 25mgs a day. I always request lowest dose possible. Hoping it passes. The other med made me cough nonstop (ALTACE) so switched to this
I have sudden onset of high blood pressure. Was running 180/110. Came out of nowhere. After 4 weeks I'm in the 140/90 range so it's starting to work. Hoping the bad case of the diahhrea ends. I take at night now. Can't take it in the morning or day hours or I can't leave the house. Always in the bathroom. Been using small dose of Imodium to help offset
I was okay at first......felt like I had more energy......then I started to get cracked skin on my eyelid. I thought it was due to an allergy…..as time went on it got worse and my eyelids were overlapping and I was swollen and Itchy and ohh soo itchy…went to the Dr she gave me Prestisone steroids for 6 days…cleared it up. But the next day back to cracked eyelids and itchy and worse than before…tried all kinds of healing creams….changed my makeup and shampoo thinking I was allergic to something…..then back to the dr for another round of steroids …..once again it cleared up only to come back with a vengenace… .burning itching RED eyelids and underneath the eyes….. It was awlful…..soo now I decided to go to the eye doctor. He said I may be allergic to the preservatives in the eye drops ….. Soo I tried that and went to bed that night woke up in the morning and my eyes seemed for the first time a little better…. Soo I went to the pharmacy to get my Metoprolol

I have been so tired and feel lazy. I don't want to do anything. I have a headache for 2 days, which is not a full headache, just a jarring pain on the side of my head. I am usually energetic and ready to go, but this past week I keep falling asleep at my computer and watching tv. I have never had a migraine and rarely have headaches, so I am assuming the pain in my head is from the pill along with me being tired so much. I am glad to see that I am not loosing energy just because. I am taking bc for the first time in 16 years to regulate my period. I think having an irregular period is better than feeling this way.
My symptoms that I took it for are mutiplied by 100.
The good effects of this drug are that I now feel like "my old self" again and feel a lot happier and have energy. I was previously on Prothiaden which made me tired & more depressed but it did help with my pain and Cymbalta has not improved on that. My heart rate has also dropped, which is a good thing. I am undecided on this drug and wonder if the side effects are worth it. I personally know people who have had success with this drug for fibromyalgia - suppose it just depends on the individual person.
Had the much dreaded colonoscopy and now it is OVER. I do not remember any of the procedure and that is exactly how I wanted it. Walked out of hospital, went home and slept the afternoon away. Woke up had a light supper and went back to sleep. Next day felt fine, taught my ESOL class and did fine.
Estrostep has been pretty good for me. I used to have horrible long, painful menstrual cycles. When I began the pill after a few months my periods have shortened to about 4 days. They are light and almost cramp free. I am also on a schedule. I know the exact day my period is coming. Most of the time it has done a great job in managing my acne except in times that I am under a great deal of stress. I could have possibly gained a few pounds but it could have also been from my diet. I do notice irritability at times and also times of depression that could be an effect of the pill. I would still recomend estrostep it has been reliable and very helpful.
My son has been taking Singulair for a year and a half. Initially, I didn't notice any changes, but over the past several months, he had developed a habit cough and has gradually taken on strange eye tics. Kids have started noticing at school. He also seems to be a little on edge and not the happy go lucky kid I know. I took him for his annual pediatrician appointment to discuss the tics and he suggested I look at the Singular that the allergist had prescribed. I am taking him off it immediately and I feel that this drug is a horrible poison. I feel terrible for not making the connection
Got just one gluteal injection. Within 2 weeks, my hair starting falling out in clumps. Signicant Hair fall out since the 2015 injection. I fear I will go bald very soon. Also my period has been erratic. I have considered suicide as I had the prettiest, thickest hair until I got this shot. I have spent thousands of dollars with doctors seeking help but hair continues to fall out. This drug ruined my life and I wish I could end my life
