Side Effects for Anastrozole (anastrozole)

ANASTROZOLE (ANASTROZOLE): Anastrozole is used to treat breast cancer in women after menopause. Some breast cancers are made to grow faster by a natural hormone called estrogen. Anastrozole decreases the amount of estrogen the body makes and helps to slow or reverse the growth of these breast cancers. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Only thing I've tried that helps, and it helps a lot with pain and swelling, though not completely. At first scared of injections, but ultimately don't mind pen in abdomen. I ice the skin ahead of time in addition to taking pen out of frig in advance. The injection feels a lot like an ice cube on the abdomen: both sting but not too much. No injection site reactions, surpriseingly enough.

Will never take this again and may not finish my last dose!

I have had this drug before for many things and I've usually been prescribed 250mg 4 times per day. This time over been prescribed double that.. I feel absolutely dreadful. I wake to feed my newborn and sit there feeling sick then wake again half an hour after dropping off and actually go to be sick. Could really do without this. I'm going to have to stop taking it over the weekend I can't cope with this. All of this for an infection I may or may not have! And even if I do, it's potentially the wrong antibiotic for it.

dry mouth, constipation, decreased sex drive, difficulty achieving orgasm, blurred vision

Hours after taking dose I woke up in the night with both my forearms being numb from my shoulder to my elbows. Numbness in my leg. Extreme fatigue, nausea, tight chest with pain, increased heart rate of 95 bpm at resting, gurgling in my stomach and a feeling as if I had diarrhea but began having hard time passing stools, and black stools.

300 Dose. Weight loss, feeling a boost in energy, shaky hands, palpatations, social anxiety, aggitation, increase in sex drive, moderate confusion when talking - forgetting words.

Weight gain initially (30-40 lbs) but not sure what drug(s)caused it. Pain Mgmt Dr was 7th Dr/Surgeon/Specialist I saw & he figured out my problem & a solution!!! He took me off 150-180mg of oxycontin was on for 2-3 mos w/pain still at 6-8 on pain scale. Told me to stop taking it that day and switched me to methadone, lyrica and ELAVIL.
