Side Effects for Sustiva (efavirenz)
SUSTIVA (EFAVIRENZ): This drug is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Efavirenz belongs to a class of drugs known as non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs). Efavirenz is not a cure for HIV infection. To decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. I tolerated this prep very easily. Went on a low residue diet a couple days before, then had a good breakfast the day of prep (eggs and white toast) I split the mix into 4 individual bottles so I could use all 4 flavors (remember to use only 1/4 of each flavor pack in each bottle). My doctor said not to chill the drink and I didn't. None tasted great, but they weren't awful either. I liked cherry and orange best. Drinking thru a straw and chewing spearmint gum between drinks helped. Managed a normal BM right after starting to drink (which I think really helped make the rest go smoothly). Otherwise, waited an hour and then enjoyed 90 minutes of regular activity (about every 10 minutes). No significant bloating or other problems. I recommend starting no later than 5pm to allow time to finish then have some broth before bed. My biggest complaint is I was very hungry all night. Also, bring a book and don't plan to leave until it's all over. Good luck!
I love lexapro. I take 10 mg with no problems. I remeber a week or two after I started lexapro I felt happier, I had the giggles more when something seemed funny, and I felt a little more calm. I've learned recently it also helps with anxiety. This is the second antidepressant I've taken. The first one was paxil, and it seemed to never work right, plus the withdrawals from paxil must be similar to what herion addicts go through! I was constantly dizzy, I was afraid to drive, and I had my first panic attacks, like I was hyper-ventalating! That was over 3 years ago. My new doc started me on lexapro about 1 half years ago, and it's worked great ever since. It's presently the only meds I need to manage my bi-polar, along with a sleep aid.
The side effets are too distubing to me. Plus the danger of getting a stroke is present.
I was prescribed this medicine after one pill of Nitrofuran made me feel like I was going to die and it cured my UTI and made me feel much better within a day.
I need to be more proactive and ask more questions. At the risk of being accused of a drug seeking.
I took one 2MG Lunesta the night before a morning appointment. I took it around 3AM. I immediately got the horrible taste in my mouth as soon as I took the pill. I still couldn't sleep until at least 4AM, and sometime after that finally got a few hours of bad quality, restless sleep. I suddenly woke up again at 7AM with unusual anxiety, 'charged up' feeling and agitation. Couldn't sleep at all, and stayed awake until 10AM when I had to get up. That was horrible. I also at this point had intense physical anxiety, and spent that entire day suffering with acute distorted perceptions, feeling of persecution in my head, terror, dread, and chemical confusion. Three days later; I am still experiencing acute anxiety, confusion, perception distortions, etc. Waiting for it to wear off. This feels different than my normal level of anxiety. I feel as if my brain is physically altered, and being distorted. Like going crazy, except I'm not. Extremely uncomfortable, like being forced beh
I will be stopping this medication as of this writing and see if the gastrointestinal upset clears up. This side effect has really been a problem. I am glad I at least thought to look into the Skelaxin. Anybody else had bowel problems as a result of taking Skelaxin?
I conceived with the assistance of clomid on the 3rd month of clomid (200 mg)days 5-9. I miscarried shortly after. And am now going through it all again. I hope all goes well now. I am praying for TRIPLETS!!!!
bad pain in bones especially back and chest, feel very sore and lethargic. Am aware of pain going into my head
