Side Effects for Norvir (ritonavir)

can't say anything BAD about the drug, its keeping me alive

NORVIR (RITONAVIR): This drug is used with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection. It helps to decrease the amount of HIV in your body so your immune system can work better. This lowers your chance of getting HIV complications (such as new infections, cancer) and improves your quality of life. Ritonavir belongs to a class of drugs known as protease inhibitors. It increases ("boosts") the levels of other protease inhibitors, which helps these medications work better. Ritonavir is not a cure for HIV infection. To decrease your risk of spreading HIV disease to others, do all of the following: (1) continue to take all HIV medications exactly as prescribed by your doctor, (2) always use an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condoms/dental dams) during all sexual activity, and (3) do not share personal items (such as needles/syringes, toothbrushes, and razors) that may have contacted blood or other body fluids. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for more details. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

Just stick to the natural way and deal with it. I do NOT recommend this shot. I do not feel like myself while on this I can not wait for it to wear off so I can be happy instead of anxious all the time.

Maybe this drug helps some people with anxiety or depression, but my doctor perscribed it to me to help with my stomach problems. I would not suggest taking this drug unless you have anxiety or depression. Even then I would be skeptical.

I'm going to talk to my doc at next appt about side effects, but I plan to keep taking it because I couldn't work and was taking narcotics for pain before Lyrica so I'm willing to try to deal with the side effects of it. I'm trying to put off a full lumbar fusion.

after reading others comments i am hoping i feel back to my old self soon as i have ceased taking them,

Bad headaches, migraines, anxiety, depression, insomniaCramps, joints pain, inflammation, high blood pressure, chest, hands, stomach)Dizziness, the only good thing stop my heavy bleeding)But with a lot side effects!!!

Had I rated this drug a few weeks ago, I would have given it a 2. It does seem that the antidepressants take a good month to reach effectiveness. Also, I was surprised to find a serotonin reuptake inhibitor for me with negligible sexual side effects.Pristiq makes it easier for me to regulate my emotions.

more hair thinning and loss in general

tried everything else eg lithium, depakote etc- this is least worst option but does not fully control mood swings, take 400mg twice a day. Considering moving onto Lamotrigine but have been advised will need Seroquel as well as an anti-manic but which has awful side effects, but do really want to get some libido back, any feedback on this appreciated

Exhaustion at first now just tired all the time. Everyone says move more and you'll have more energy but thats not true. I feel like this whether I excercise or lay around all day. I had my migraines under control before starting on this drug. Now I'm back to waking up with a headache more often than not. I have stomach pains after eating and feel nauseous when I don't eat.

Severe contact dermatitis. Pain, swelling, itching.
