BICNU (CARMUSTINE): This medication is used to treat certain types of cancer (including multiple myeloma, brain tumor, Hodgkin's disease, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma). I have to say that this is a wonderful medicine. I have taken it on & off for over 20 years. Doctors don't think to prescribe it much because of the newer drugs, but, it works! I take Carafate and Nexium every day. Suffer from gastritis, IBS, & acid reflux.
It's taken me 15 years to fully gauge the effect of this drug on my life from adolescence to adulthood. What seemed like minor side effects as a child (social awkwardness, anxiety, staring into oblivion), turned out to be warning signs of lasting effects on my life as an adult. With the stimulants I achieved a 4.0 GPA both in high school and in college, and found a high paying dream job on Wall St.But on the flip side, the stimulants have robbed me of my happiness. The anxiety is incessant. It has destroyed my romantic relationships and left me socially dysfunctional. I can't maintain romantic relationship, don't speak to my family anymore, and don't have any close friends.I've found that that "distant stare" that we get with the drug isn't just a funny side effect. Have taken nasonex for 3 days. Have had insomnia and headaches, am jittery and dizzy for about 4-5 hours after taking medication.
Can only be attributed to the Levaquin. I'm an American living and working in China and have NEVER EVER felt paranoid to face people or even leave my apartment. This is nuts. I'm discontinuing today.
Didn't figure it out, but heartburn....started right after starting it 2 yrs ago and has gotten progressively worse such that I am on prevacid. Seems idiotic to me, so I'm asking my Dr. to switch meds or lighten the dose.

After taking my second pill, I immediately when to having sever chills and then high fever, aching all over, could not get out of bed. Of course all DR's and pharmcies, say that this med. would not cause this. I quit taking it for 2 days, and then decided to try again, immediately started the same all over again.
