Side Effects for Mexate-aq (methotrexate sodium)
Can not take MTX orally at dose of 20 mg. Started on IM MTX at reduced dose of 17.5 mgm. Had decrease in severe nausea, but still have fatique and weakness starting 3-4 hours after injection, lasting into most of the next day. MTX does work but still have periods of severe pain requiring the use of steroid injections. My psoriasis still still flares but is usually under good control unless I'm sick on antibiotics and miss a week or two of MTX until I'm better. Also on Bextra and have had pain releif but an excessive weight gain. Currently my Rhumatalogist is seeking approval for Remicade from my insurance, I only hope that I can afford the co-pays.

MEXATE-AQ (METHOTREXATE SODIUM): Methotrexate is used to treat certain types of cancer or to control severe psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis that has not responded to other treatments. It may also be used to control juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Methotrexate belongs to a class of drugs known as antimetabolites. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells and suppressing the immune system. extreme exhaustion. dizziness, waves of nausea, listless, malaise, weakness, back pain, abdominal pain, side effects continue even after completing the course.
Weight gain, extreme tiredness/exhaustion, increased feelings of depression, yawning, complete loss of sex drive. When coming off- troubles focusing, horrible dizziness, mild headaches.
This drug is AWFUL. I was in labor with my first child, and given Stadol. I felt like I was trapped in my own body. I could feel every bit of pain. I could hear everyone talking and understood what they were saying. BUT, I could NOT move. It was one of the worst experiences of my life.
Is helping with depression; I feel much better and think that the positives outweigh the negatives.
Side effects did not begin until day two but that is when they hit hard. The first symptom was my upper gums became red, throbbed constantly and became so inflamed and sore it hurt to eat. It actually felt like the teeth on the upper rows were seperating and I could feel gaps between them. The second night I did not sleep despite that fact that it was all I could do to keep my eyes open I felt so fatigued. The few minutes I did actually drift off I had strange dreams like I was on an acid trip.Day 2 I developed these itchy red bumps all over my chest and spots on my face. My eyes looked like I had been drunk for two weeks and I have this constant headache. Every joint in my body hurts and my muscles feel like they are on fire.My heart feels like its going to beat out of my chest and I developed this anger last night where I could not be around anybody because I had no patience for anything.I've stopped taking this med because the side effects were too many and too severe. I'll just deal with the infection until I get the tooth pulled next week.I'm sure that for every negative experience like mine this med has helped thousands of people. My problem is I called my doctor and explained these symptoms I was told "those are not side effects of erythromycin." When I told her that I did not have these issues prior to taking this med she got mad at me. Oh well...looks like its time to find a new dentist.
unbearable itching all over. did not help the pain at all. a lot of tension and everytime I take it I just feel sore

Took the once monthly oral Boniva tablet August 15, 2007 within 24 hours had mild flu-like achy feeling. Cleared up pretty well for the next 24 hours, then the burning aching neck, shoulder, side and back muscle pain started. Called the Doctor's office, was advised to stop taking the medication and take ibuprofen. It's been 13 days now, with no relief from the ibuprofen and the pain has not dulled. I have never had any problems with any of this back pain before. I hope it goes away soon! I am a caretaker for a family member with dementia, and this is really taking its toll. Will never take this medication again, there has to be a better way
