I was told by my doctor that sometimes individuals develop rare side effects due to a certain inhibitor in the drug and this can develop long after you started the medication.
VASERETIC (ENALAPRIL MALEATE; HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE): This medication is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This product contains 2 medications, enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide. Enalapril belongs to a class of drugs known as ACE inhibitors. It works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow through the body more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) and causes your body to get rid of extra salt and water. This effect may increase the amount of urine you make when you first start the medication. relieved the most intense TN pain. I had to take as high as 3200mg initially and for around 2-3mos to kill the pain but I was able to taper down to 100mg a day over the next 3 months
I had been on other antidepressants which did not work as well.I have taken the drug for almost 4 years. It still seems to be effective.
My bone density scans showed osteoporosis in spine & forearm & osteopenia in hips. I resisted taking any medication for several years, until my annual bone density scans convinced me I was headed for serious trouble. (Family history of osteoporosis in Grandmother, Aunt & Great-Grandmother & significant loss of bone density appearing each year in my own scans before starting this medication.) Since starting weekly Actonel 2 years ago, two annual bone scans have shown significant improvement. I am careful to follow instructions, and have had no side effects at all. Very easy to take one small pill a week - wish I had started sooner. After 2 years on Actonel, my latest bone scan shows density back to where it was 5 years ago (had been monitored for several years before agreeing to take medication, due to family history).
constant wakenings at night. a lot of gas :-( loss of apetite ( which is a good thing for me since im overweight), and frequent headaches. o and decreased sex drive
i take 30mg 2x daily. to counteract the tired feeling i take 200mg 1x daily of provigil which seems to help. i used to be on fentynol patch which made me a walking zombie and when i stopped using it i ended up in the hospital for withdralws. kadian is by far better than the patch.

I would not recommend this pill, the benefits do not outweigh the side effects. If I would have known side effects prior to taking this I would have waited to see other options for my pain.
Anyway on those nights sometimes the nightmares come back so I don't know what I am going to do if I build up a tolerance to this stuff.So far really no major side effects. I'm was irritable before because I don't get the right type of sleep so still being irritable now is just the same effect but caused for a different reason.Probably a little short term memory loss, but not enough to be detrimental.Me mellowed out is just taking me down to how a normal persons minds functions.I can see how these other people that have anxiety and stuff are having more severe side effects because thier mind isn't racing so stopping their synapses from firing is putting them in a more vegetative state. My problem is more antsy, lets get stuff done, always thinking 10 steps ahead type problem though and not being able to turn that off. Google searching hasn't really turned up anybody else that describes their nightmare symptoms like mine :(
I have been on Seasonale for over 2 months however, in my second month I have been seeing a lot of break through and spotting. I can't participate and I can longer go to bed without an underwear. I am thinking about going off it.
After three days very loose stool so I had to take something else to help with this. Things were ok until day 14 and then two hours after dose temp dropped out from under me, 94.2. Terrible shakes, felt like I had the flu and then temp went up to 110.9. After a few hours it stopped. This happened four days in a row also my blood count dropped three times in less than a week. I had to stop the med after 18 days.
