Loniten (minoxidil) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Loniten (minoxidil)

It does help lower blood pressure, but it also DOES grow hair all over your body. If you are a female, this may be very disturbing!!

LONITEN (MINOXIDIL): Minoxidil is used with other medications to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Minoxidil works by relaxing blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA) Download our Free Resource Guide:

This miracle drug gave me my life back. From the ages of 19 through 28, I feared leaving the house due to chronic diarrhea. I would go anywhere from 4-8 times a day. I nearly lost my job from calling out or being late in the morning because I couldn't leave the bathroom. It was awful. Since my GI started me on Lomotil, it has gone away almost completely. The only bouts I suffer from are usually viral or from overeating greasy food. This pill, 2x a day, has changed my life.

Been having anxiety and dizzyhead, the head congestion

I'm up typing this email now because I'm sick to my stomach and the coughing has started again. Of course it's 1:28 in the morning and I'm truly exhausted. I haven't taken the drug for two days now, so someone please tell me how long it will take to get this crap out of my system? Help!! Thanks!

Emotionally numb, wasn't happy or sad. No libido at all, was unable to orgasm from sex.

This stuff is bad news. A nurse practitioner gave me a month's worth of samples to take, never mentioned possible side effects. I've never experienced drug side effects like this before in my life. Had I not stumbled across this site while researching Singulair and two other drugs I started taking recently for my back, I would probably not have made the connection. Frightening. I stopped taking it after about 3 and a half weeks and the side effect symptoms completely disappeared in 3 days. I'll never take this stuff again.

DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICINE. Yes, it lowers blood pressure but at a big price. I have quit taking it for two weeks and I still have "the cough". This stuff is made from snake poison (really look it up)

I'm still taking this medication. I have chronic post nasal drip but it doesn't get better without the medication so I'm not sure if it's related or not.

This medication took the pain away, but when it was stopped it was like we were addicted to it. I would not recommend this medication to anyone.

Prescribed 40mg daily, took as needed for several years with no evident issue. In February 2023 I started to develop intense anxiety out of nowhere. I've never had issues with anxiety like this before. Continued to take it for two weeks because couldn't identify the cause, until I did. I experienced a full suite of side effects led by INCREDIBLE anxiety, loud heart palpitations, depression, chills, tremors, cold hands/feet, and significantly reduced appetite (I dropped 20 pounds). I stopped taking it in march 2023, and in May 2023 I am still experiencing reduced side effects including some anxiety and depression, some chills, and some mild heart palpitations.
