Hyperstat (diazoxide) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Hyperstat (diazoxide)

HYPERSTAT (DIAZOXIDE): This medication is used to treat very low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Certain conditions (such as tumor on the pancreas, cancer, leucine sensitivity) can cause the release of too much insulin. Insulin is a natural substance that lowers blood sugar. This drug works by preventing insulin release from the pancreas, helping to return the blood sugar to normal levels. Diazoxide is a thiazide drug, but has no diuretic ("water pill") effects like other thiazides. Diazoxide should not be used to treat low blood sugar from poor nutrition/diet (functional hypoglycemia). (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA) Download our Free Resource Guide:

I am epileptic and also suffer from severe anxiety. I have tried many different meds, but only Xanax has helped, but apparenty it's addictive ( I say who cares, as long as It works, right??). I have just started taking Buspar, and have had zero relief! The side effects have been terrible, I have been vomitting everyday since I started buspar, and this headaches and dizziness are unbearable. I am glad I read that a few other people have had skin itching, for I thought my skin was just dry and have been going through tons of lotion. I do believe that Buspar has been making me even more wired and anxious than ever before. I hope to keep taking Buspar, for it's frustrating to keep trying drug after drug, with no avail. I pray the side effects go away, and wish there was a drug like Xanax, that doctors say is okay!

Horrible Medicine!!! This medicine kicked in about 2 hours after taking, and no matter what i was doing, it would make me a zombie. I even fell asleep in the drs office and dont remember even talking to my dr. and then fell asleep with food in my mouth, i could have choked and died!! I thought the side effect would get better but it just got worse. I couldnt function on this medicine. I would only take the first dose and never even get to the 2nd or 3rd because i would be just out of it. Please use extreme caution on this one.

Didnt help to much I didnt think. Then I went off of it and its been about 6 months now and Im getting very depressed. My doctor says I have a mild bipolar disorder.

It definitely helped my migraines, which were severe. The last 10 years, I've only had 2 when I missed a dose of Inderal.

Sleep better, less water retention, clearer skin, some breakthrough bleeding

Dry socket after tooth extraction

Was prescribed Augmentin to prevent any post-surgery infection. I started 1 day prior to surgery. I was on pain killers for the first couple days post-op so am unsure of onset of some of the side effects. Immediately post-op I had EXTREMELY SEVERE ANXIETY! The other problems started 4-5 days after starting. I completed the 10 day cycle, BARELY. I should have stopped earlier. Today is my 3rd day off & still dealing with lower-back/intestinal/ureter/bladder pain, fatigue. WILL NEVER TAKE AGAIN. I'm making sure it goes on my record as an ALLERGY. AVOID if you can.

After the third shot, I felt like I had a really bad case of the flu with horrible eye pain and then something burst in my left eye, and I still have difficulty seeing out of the eye and my vision is impaired.

Severe upper stomach pains, gas, tiredness, dizziness, frequent urination.
