AVALIDE (HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE; IRBESARTAN): This drug is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. This product contains two medications: irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Irbesartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and works by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily. Hydrochlorothiazide is a "water pill" (diuretic) that causes you to make more urine, which helps your body get rid of extra salt and water. I feel better mentally. Ideation is better. Nightmares stopped after a couple days. I take the pill at night now so I don't sleep all day. I'm going to try promethazine to help the nausea and vomiting. Also going to try taking 2 - 20mg tablets an hour apart.
Worked well on stabilizing my mood. But already being overweight, my Doc said the rapid weight gain was unacceptable and switched me to lamictal. Geodon had been working well for me, but the side effect of clenching my left side...mainly leg and toes, leaving my toes red and swollen, led me to stop taking it. Depakote made me a zombie.
Switched from lo version to regular for acne. Better skin and no side effects.
This drug is just plain ridiculous and should not be prescribed to anyone. I lost 50 pounds in 3 months, I was overwieght so this wasn't a horrible side effect in my eyes but the weight loss was initially the reason I had to go off of it. I was never hungry so I would go a day or two without eating or eating very little and dropped down to 105 lbs and I am 5'8". I also loss the ability to function cognitively, I was an honors student in middle school with a 3.8 GPA and after about 6 months of being on the medication they referred me to a learning specialist because I was doing so poorly in school, my IQ tested at 70 which by definition is mental retardation. They took me off the medicine and I eventually regained my cognitive abilities and managed to make it through college with a 3.6 GPA. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG.
I was a heroin addict for about 2 years I went from one addiction to the next. Yes I do have to admit I have made huge progress thanks to methadone however it comes at a price. I sacrifice my body, my mind and my time. I tried getting off one time prior with no success I am working on attempt number two. I see people going to the clinic with a walker, I dont wanna be one of those people. This is only a temporary fix because at the end of the day I am still an addict if i have to depend on methadone. I went from a 115 pound female who had issues to a balooga whale with issues still. Methadone does get you off of heroin but you have to seriously consider the consquences. Getting off methadone is NOT a joke. It is not easy.
I am NOT a medicine person, I do all things natural & herb, however after taking antibiotic for strep throat I got this bad candida yeast infection, and struggled with it for months, tried everything!!! I am so happy that I finally gave in and took Diflucan, it has helped me get my life back, a few side effects was expected and the benefits worth it all. I would do it again.

I would not recommend this ! I wanted to know the side effects, & I got all the ones that are not listed & I'm glad I came across this page! I thought I was going to die in my sleep cuz I thought the worse of the worse! I'm on day 5 tomorrow I will be goin to the dr hopefully my infection is gone. I might finish the last 2days just to be safe.
