ADALAT CC (NIFEDIPINE): This medication is used alone or in combination with other drugs to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, and kidney problems. Nifedipine belongs to a class of medications known as calcium channel blockers. I take a 1000mg dose of Depakote ER every day in the form of to 500mg pills. I suffered all the way through High school and much of my early 20's with horrendous severe Migraines. I tried using several different medications that are used to terminate migraines that are often dangerous and in some cases can cause severe heart problems such as Imitrex, Migranal and Zomig. All of these drugs for whatever reason were unable to offer me any relief and failed to terminate the migraine as they promised to do. I used to suffer from 2 severe migraines a month with each one lasting about 8 hours of excruciating pain. Now I am cured!!! I have not had a single Migraine for two years!!! For someone like me the side effects are well worth it and very minor in comparison to severe migraines that would often times have me huddled into a fetal position and feeling like some one had a chain saw on the back of my head. I've taken this a lot due to my pencilliab allergy but this time I went to the Er thinking I was dying and having a stroke turns out everything was normal. Feel some comfort knowing that a lot is us have the same side effects.
THIS MEDICATION I SUPPOSE HELPS SOMEWHAT. MOST OF THE TIME NOW MY TOP NUMBERS OF MY BLOOD PRESSURE ARE GOOD, BUT I HAVEN'T SEEN MUCH IMPROVEMENT WITH THE BOTTOM NUMBERS. HOWEVER, IT DOES HELP WITH MY PALPITATIONS AND EXTRA BEATS. BUT I WOULD RATHER HAVE A MEDICATION THAT CAN HELP MY BLOOD PRESSURE AND NOT CAUSE ME TO HAVE ALL THESE OTHER SYMPTOMS, BECAUSE THESE OTHER SYMPTOMS REALLY INTERFERE WITH YOUR DAILY LIFE AND YOU NEVER REALLY FEEL WELL.
So far so good. I am not sure if it lowered my cholesterol yet though. I am taking the Generic Simvastatin (20mg)
I think effexor may be very effective for SHORT TERM USE. It was indeed effective for me when I began taking it. After being on it for a few years and discovering the withdrawal symptoms if I missed a dose I figured I would be on this medication for life. But recently (now that I have been feeling 'normal' about life for years thanks to effexor) I am noticing side effects. At first I thought all these side effects were seperate issues. It never occured to me they could be from my precious effexor. I looked up Acne and Effexor on Google and it led me to this page and others. After reading other people's experiences I realize that my time with Effexor should be up (well it probably should have stopped 2 years ago). The side effects have outweighed the benefits and it's time for a change (hopefully no medication but we'll see how that goes!) I sure am glad I got one Effexor when I did! But I think it should only be used for approximately 2.5 years.
OMG. The worst lower back pain ever, shoulder pain, general muscle pains, muscle fatigue,abdominal pain, joint pain. Worse at night. Seen my doctor. Didn't link my symptoms to cialis at first. Had blood tests, X-rays,mri,gastroscopy etc. all normal. Is is 20 days since last cialis and it is slowly improving. No idea how long it will take to completely clear up.
Micardis has lowered my BP from 145/90 to about 130/75 average and am taking the 80 mg dose. Am not happy with the side effects and would like to find an alternative method to lower my BP without drugs. Would not recomend this medication be taken for long periods of time. I think it would cause damage if taken for more than say 6 months. It is effective though in lowering BP but at too much of a cost to your general health.
