Tavist (clemastine fumarate) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Tavist (clemastine fumarate)

In my neverending quest to find something to help my son with summer allergies (itchy eyes, fatigue) we tried Tavist as it listed few side effects but he can't take that either, Claritin was a disaster, guess our only option right now is to try the local honey thing.

Was put on clemastine (prescription strength) by allergist many years ago after getting no relief from other allergy medicines. This is the only drug which has kept away my allergy-related sinus/migraine type headaches, as well as other symptoms. Strongly recommend it.

THis works better for me than Claritin, Allegra,or Zyrtec. I personally perfer the flexibility of a 12-hour pill. (I often only need to take it at night.)

TAVIST (CLEMASTINE FUMARATE): Clemastine is an antihistamine used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. These symptoms include rash, watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat/skin, cough, runny nose, and sneezing. This medication works by blocking a certain natural substance (histamine) that your body makes during an allergic reaction. By blocking another natural substance made by your body (acetylcholine), it helps dry up some body fluids to relieve symptoms such as watery eyes and runny nose. Cough-and-cold products have not been shown to be safe or effective in children younger than 6 years. Therefore, do not use this product to treat cold symptoms in children younger than 6 years unless specifically directed by the doctor. Some products (such as long-acting tablets/capsules) are not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details about using your product safely. These products do not cure or shorten the length of the common cold and may cause serious side effects. To decrease the risk for serious side effects, carefully follow all dosage directions. Do not use this product to make a child sleepy. Do not give other cough-and-cold medication that might contain the same or similar ingredients (see also Drug Interactions section). Ask the doctor or pharmacist about other ways to relieve cough and cold symptoms (such as drinking enough fluids, using a humidifier or saline nose drops/spray). This was the only medication that relieved the severe nerve pain I experienced with Guillain Barre. It allowed me to focus on recovery following complete paralysis (instead of needing to cope with pain), and for that I will be forever grateful. I am now fully functional without any residual nerve problems.

I have been taking Rozerem for several months, originally nightly for two weeks then as needed. I love the fact that I do not feel drugged... I just fall asleep. If I need to get up in the night to go to the bathroom or tend a child I feel fine and go right back to sleep. There is no groggy feeling in the morning. I wake up on my own without an alarm clock after about 6.5 - 7 hours of sleep.

Mild pleasant feeling about 1 out of 10 times, otherwise no side effects.

I think it worsened my psychosis. It was a traumatic experience. I forgive the people who gave it to me. I just do not want others to go through what I went through.I thank the Lord Jesus that He was with me and that He helps me deal with those memories. He has saved my soul and I will see Him soon when He comes back to earth! Maranatha.

I have been taking for almost a year. I started with 150 and I am now on 300. Ive been on the higher dose for about 4months.I really feel better overall. Much happier and great sex drive! I am still waiting for the weight loss thing to kick in (any day now- please:) I have over the last couple of weeks had a problem with dizziness followed by a headache. I am wondering if this could be realated to the Wellbutrin even though I have been on it for so long?? Anyone else experience dizziness after awhile? I take it now in the morning, but I am thinking about changing to bedtime to maybe avoid some of the dizziness- to see if that works. Please any advice???
