Side Effects for Celontin (methsuximide)

I'm still taking this medication. I have no side effects.

This drug was prescribed because of frequent seizures. It has been a great drug for me.

constant migraine headache, disorientation, double vision

In spite of all the adverse effects, the frequency of seizures remained about the same.

CELONTIN (METHSUXIMIDE): This medication is used alone or with other medications to prevent and control a certain type of seizure (absence or petit mal seizure). It works by controlling the abnormal electrical activity in the brain that occurs during a seizure. (Sources: U.S. Centers for Medicare Services, FDA)

just the usual sedation associated with hydrocodone

Terrible short term memory problems, lack of motivation, weak and wobbly unbalanced feeling (walked like a 90 year old), not sure footed as I walked, overall weak feeling, difficulty driving due to muscle function irregularities, tightness in throat with occasional choking problem, lightheaded foggy brain (like being in a stupor), loss of endurance, heavy legs and arms, eye muscle spasms, dizziness (vertigo), lousy sleeping at night, terrible concentration, bad dreams nightly, foot and leg cramps especially at night in bed, always exhausted, hip joint pain, muscular aches, swallowing problems, hard to get out of bed in the morning, constant muscle tension in legs (inflexibility), sadness, mood swings, loss of muscle mass in chest and arms.

Slight nausea, took at night, didn't last long. THE COST IS OUTRAGEOUS, DISGUSTING AND SHOULD BE ILLEGAL. Discontinued use because insurance wouldn't cover it.

Took this med for 5 years.Lowered my bp somewhat.Began having sexual problems after year 1,Doc said it's not Diovan. At year 3,had numbness in toes.Did extensive neuro workup, diagnosed as neuropathy.Switched to Benazepril 20mg several months ago.Numbness in toes gradually decreasing.Benazepril 20 equals Diovan 80.Maybe I was overmedicated.Also,joint/muscle pains are subsiding.

Had no other side effects until cramps woke me up this morning at 5:30, day of transfer. Little freaked out.

Acne, Mood swings, NO sex drive, no energy, no periods, MAJOR weight gain (70 lbs)

Bit forgetful, nothing major...

i was perscribed after previous sleep meds (ambien, halcyon, and trazadone in that order) lost effectiveness. now officially on my personal "do not take" list. i have had other opposite effect side effects with some other medications.

I rarely take prescription medicine, as I am rarely ill. I was prescribed this medicine and have had serious gas, abdominal pain (I thought I had something wrong with my female reproductive organs). I'm in the chills right now and the person beside me is wearing shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt he says it's not cold at all. My throat hurts, I can barely talk without my voice going out. NO WONDER! Sheeeeez!! And I have 2 pills left to go. I have never had a bladder infection or a UTI in my life. This is stupid. Really....

In the beginning mild dry eye and feeling thirsty a lot. Starting around 300mg/day, started feeling 'spaced out' and heavily tranquilized, dizzy, hungry, difficult to concentrate at work, and worst of all: depression. Felt sad and tearful and had no control over these emotions. Very unlike me. I was at 700mg/day when I decided to wean off.
