Briviact (brivaracetam) Side Effects, Uses Dosages

Side Effects for Briviact (brivaracetam)

Have not had a seizure since starting Briviact on 4/18/21, I have some outbursts and some anger. Short memory span, Loss of sexual appetite and ejacullation concerns. Sometimes no ejaculation, sometimes consistency is very thick and lumpy. Overall no issues with seizures but would like my sexual life to be somewhat normal.

Nausea, irritability, mood swings, depression, anxiety

It did keep focal seizures away

Started Briviact after trying Kepra. Took a long time for my body to adjust to side effects. First it was migraines then hit by chest pain ( costochondritis) and now dealing with anxiety attacks. Asked my neurologist to decrease the dose.

You need very good insurance to buy this drug. In 3/4 years it will become generic.

Been jumping from Kepra to Briviact to Vimpat for grand mal seizures/ cluster seizures. Briviact is the only one that i didn't feel negative side effects. Helped a lot!

Memory issues, depression, doesn’t work

The nurse from UMMC instructed me to dissolve 15 capfuls into 64 ounces of miralax. After a half hour I drank 10 ounces of Gatorade with the medicine mixed in and I started feeling side effects and after an hour it got worse. For a normal bowel movement you are only supposed to have a cap full not 15. I only have one cup down, five more to go. They wanted me to drink it all within 4-6 hours. I'm taking my time with this, probably going to take double the time, 10-12 hours for me to drink this.

POISON!!! I was taking Lipator 20mg & Zetia 10mg. Have been suffering daily with these killers. I stopped taking Lipator about 6 weeks ago and will stop taking Zetia today. I would rather take my chances with high cholesterol rather than suffer daily with these drugs.

I have neck pain and shoulder pain but have had shoulder pain before taking this drug. Now the pain is going down my whole right side and sometimes when I turn a certain way it hurts like crazy but I notice the pain most when I try to go to sleep. I have just noticed that the pain really, really gets bad right after I take the pill. I have been on this pill for nearly a year but it just dawned on me that this pill may be causing these pains. I guess because I had neck and shoulder pain before I never thought this pill was doing it to me. The fact that last night I could have just sat here and cried the pain was so bad that I am taking myself off of it. I want to see if the pain goes away so I can judge for myself what is causing it, drugs or do I have something else wrong with me. Ladies, let me tell you one thing for sure, we are the ones that know our bodies better than any one else. I have asked my Dr. if the medicine could be causing this pain and he didn't think so but I w

Diagnosed with ADHD earlier this year and was recently prescribed Vyvanse. It gave me horrible vertigo. I already have BPPV so I don’t know if it magnified it or what, all I know is the 4 days I took it were the absolute worst. I would rather manage my ADHD without meds then go through that again.

I'm no longer taking this medication.

After original hospital admission with bleeding nose, ear and from sick, very ill. Referred to consultant ENT after returning home with ongoing symptoms, including tinitus. Together with side effects I've read about, plus the risk of even death if exposed to measles or some other disease(not on patient leaflet), and seemingly no awareness of these dangers by my GP/Consultant/Pharmacist, and when I asked my consultant how long I'd need to take it, he dismissively replied "It could be for ever". It has left me quite depressed, wondering if ageism was involved and searching for a decent consultant who can treat the problem and offer me sensible and honest advice and information instead of treating the symptoms with an inneffective and a dangerous(told safe)drug and me as a "patient" to be tolerated.

I had to start taking prednisone to get the hives to go away. Some days I can take 5mg but most is 10-20 depending on outbreak and the most I take is 50mg per day. Have taken pretty much this last 16 months everyday. I am trying to taper dose slowly and hope to be off soon.
