With very little warning my tongue swollen up and so did my throat.Ended up in ER and eventually in ICU for 4 days and another 4 days in the hospital. I had to be incubated to avoid asphyxia.
According to the ER doc, reaction to the medication can show up immediately or few days/weeks/months down the road. Doc believed was the losartan the main cause.
Psudo-gout after about 6 months (Very painful!) Arms feel full and heavy, dizzy if standing up too fast. Urinating frequently. Hair loss is probably the worst side effect.
Although this drug along with norvasc lowered my bp, I feel like a zombie. I used to have a nice thick head of hair, until I was put on bp meds. The psudo-gout pops up randomly, it's soo painful! Dr. says it's from the hydrochlorothiazide but won't take me off because bp is down.
TOOK BOTH MEDICINES TOGETHER, NO COMPLAINTS, SOMEWHAT DIZZY AT TIMES ESPECIALLY.IF I STOOD UP TO FAST

I found this web site by trying to explain a health problem that seem to have no explanation. Specifically, I was diagnosed about a year ago with Raynaud's - which is a lack of tolerance to cold. My hands and feet are always red and splotchy looking, and I can't bundle up enough to keep warm anytime it gets colder than 70 degrees. I'm 61 years old and this 'problem' only surfaced in the last 2-3 years. I can't be sure if it's related to the Losartan. I've tried staying off the medicine for about a week before resuming it. Nothing changed. Still, if it is related, then it may take longer than a week to resolve itself. The doctor is reluctant to change my medicine since 1) Losartan isn't known to have a Raynaud relationship and 2) Losartan is one of the only B.P medicines to work for me.
tendon pain whenever the dose of 25 mg was increased to 50 mg.
The first few days I was dizzy when walking around a corner too fast or getting up from exercising on the floor. That quickly passed after the first week.
This is a good drug for me. My blood pressure went down 30pts and I am working to lose 50 pounds so I don't even need this drug.

have developed hive on face before, dizziness, fatigue, but not every time. Helps if I take it before bed with benadryl. After being back on pill, have had recurring yeast infections. Took it in morning without benadryl, eyes itching. By 72 hours later when I had to take 2nd dose, eye felt like it had stye, painful to blink, pressure behind eye. went to eye dr. no bacterial infection. finally realized that diflucan is only difference in my routine this week. Eye is painful and itchy. Lid is completely swollen.

neurontin has been a wonder drug for me! before i started taking it the pain was so bad i was actually bedridden for two days. after one day of taking it iwas up and walking and feeling like myself again. i thought my life was going to be filled with pain and neurontin has given me my life back. i have only been taking it for a few weeks, i take 600-900mg 3x a day. but i have also suffered from chronic and constant migraines. i have had every med available, ev. test seen neurologist and had weekly pain shots to relieve the headaches. since the neurontin i have not had one!!!!I know the medicine is new to me but so far it is a GODSEND!

Initially (first week) I felt a little spacey and I had some chest pain (short spasms) which went away after 2 weeks. My blood pressure is up 140/90 but with weight loss it should come back down. Constant thirst, so I'm drinking extra water which is accelerating my weight loss. First week dropped 4lbs and lost total of 6lbs that month. No food cravings!

This stuff saved me. My aggression levels went to nothing after being severely agitated and mixed (then manic) for weeks. However, I had to discontinue due to side effects. I have fibromyalgia and the direct release formula made me have severe migraines so I switched to extended release. No more migraines, but I was constantly nauseous, and I already have stomach problems so I couldn't continue taking it which was a bummer. It worked really well though, so if I'm ever in an emergency situation I would be willing to take it temporarily to reset myself.
