Side Effects for Androgel (testosterone)

ANDROGEL (TESTOSTERONE): This medicated gel contains testosterone. It is used for hormone replacement in men who are not able to produce enough testosterone (e.g., hypogonadism). This medication is absorbed through the skin, enters your bloodstream, and helps your body reach normal testosterone levels. Testosterone helps the body to develop and maintain the male sexual characteristics (masculinity), such as a deep voice and body hair. It also helps to maintain muscle and prevent bone loss, and is necessary for natural sexual ability/desire. This drug should not be used by women. I don't think the side effects are worth it for me. I am going to look at other methods (sleep meditations, exercise) to improve sleep.

irritability, anger, feeling without purpose.

Since this drug doesn't seem to do much for asthma I don't think I'll use it. The degree of help is not worth the side effects, which are pretty spooky.

i had 2 weeks of bleeeding and then some spotting.

Maybe it's just me, but it's been giving me terrible gas and cramping, and I've been feeling the need to go to the bathroom all day long. I guess to some this is preferable to no bowel movement, but the constant feeling of incomplete BM is uncomfortable as well. I took zelnorm but that is off the market now.

just one complaint ... fullness and weight gain.. cant lose the 10 pounds and I have been the same weight for 20 years before beginning the HRT. Oh well its not that I look horrible I just feel that I have a big belly but it is better than suffering those flashes anyone agree here?

Somewhat satisfied since it didn't lower my TG as I hoped it would. No side effects on 48mg but my doctor raised the dosage to 145mg a week ago. I'll see what happens and keep you updated.

Nausea, headache, feeling really sad (started on 4th day), some stomach pain (much better than what I was feeling before though), eye twitching (not sure if it is coming from the med or just coincidence)

Seemed to work for the allergies but I had terrible insomnia. I tried taking it in the morning and although the insomnia wasn't as bad as when I took it at night, it was still very troublesome. I stopped taking it a week ago and have been sleeping normally for the past couple of nights.
