Side Effects for Vicodin (acetaminophen; hydrocodone bitartrate)

My depression melted away i felt good like i had drank alcohol i slept awsome i puked a few times it was good sh*t

Exhausted from out patient surgery today. (Major surgery). Struggled to stay awake until 9 pm to take vicodin. It is now 4 hours later and still wide awake.

Works perfectly for alleviating my chronic pain.

It was prescribed by the emergency room After suffering a severe kidney stone attack.I took the pill the next day when pain began in the same region. And I felt extremely nauseous, disoriented,Panic. Extreme fatigue. This is a drug that has a dangerous effect on me.I was unsure that is was Vicodan causing these symptoms due to the hospital had administered drugs via intravenously so I was unsure as to What is causing me to feel gravely ill.... Until Today.I felt OK after sleeping for many hours, until a aching pain began and I took a vicodin and those awful symptoms have taken residence Again. No Doubt this is a effect from Vicodin and all I can do is ride out these horrible symptoms.I took the pill at 11am, it is now 6pm and Still I am very ill from this disgusting drug.Never AgainšŸ˜ŸThe

Vicodin was Worse then the physical pain I was in when it was prescribed to mešŸ˜³Terrible drug. Be forewarned my friend.

I took this at 1 pm after a root canal. By 2 pm I couldn't stay away. I slept from 2-5. I got up at 5, fixed dinner, and was completely fuzzy. It felt like my brain was in a fog and I had fears of dying from the one recommended dose. I would go across the room or kitchen and when I got there couldn't remember why. By 8 pm I couldn't stay awake any longer and went to bed (I usually never go to bed before about 11). I slept until 8 the next morning, so overall, I slept 15 of 18 hours after taking one dose. Never again. This stuff is dangerous and should only be used in a hospital setting.

Intense nausea that can only be explained by my stomach actually trying to claw its way out of my body. I vomited every 20 minutes and any time I tried to eat or drink anything. When there was no more blood, saliva, and stomach acid, I dry heaved. I cried pretty much the whole time and had a massive panic attack. At a couple points I laughed hysterically until it turned into sobbing. I was extremely anxious, drenched in sweat, and freezing cold. I was dizzy, could barely move, and it felt like my apartment was being spun into another dimension. Not only did it really not help the pain from my extraction, it seemed to distribute the pain to the rest of my unsuspecting body. All I wanted to do was sleep, but it was impossible until it finally wore off, several hours after I initially took the drug, but what felt to be an eternity.

Literally the worst experience of my life. I was sure I was dying. I would warn my worst enemy against using this drug.

Severe tooth pain before extraction

Drowsiness, feel euphoric at times

For the most part I Odin did nothing to calm my tooth pain. It just put to bed

Constipation At First, But It goes Away After A Short Time Of Being On It, Of I Take An Extra One, I Won't Be Able To Poop The Next Day, But After That, IM GOOD!** Withdrawal Symptoms (being= Can't Sleep, Restless Leg Syndrome, Creepy Crawling Wanting To Climb Out Of My Own Skin, SWEATING

I've Been On Vicodin For A Long Time, Since I'm Allergic To A LOT of Medications, This Pain Med Was The Only One That Gave Little (Manageable) To No Side Effects While Taking It, I've Had To Increase The MG Dose Over Time (10 Years Of Use) And IM On 10-325 Right Now And It Doesn't Even TICKLE the Pain, I Feel As Tho I'm Taking A PEZ Candy Each Time I Take It, No More Relief!I Take One Morning, 2:00, And Before Bed... If I Fall Asleep Before I Take My Bedtime Pill, I Wake Up A Few Short Hours Later With NASTY withdrawal Symptoms, Restless Leg Snydrome, Creepy Crawlies, Sweating Like My Body Is,Raining, And No Matter What Can't Fall Back Asleep! (To Stop These Feelings, I HAVE TO TAKE A PILL)After Taking It For So Long It Is Completely Useless To Me, Going To See What The Next "Step" Will Be In Pain Control... I Need Relief! I'm In A Bad Lupus Flare!

Ok, at first, then felt nauseous and hungover..

post surgery I wanted to "stay ahead of the pain" so I began taking the Vicodin about 4 hours after I got out of surgery. Helped with pain very well for the first 2 days. The last 3 days the pain was at bay but I had a slew of side effects ranging from depressed mood, panic/anxiety, super increased heart rate, feeling just plain on another planet, shallow breathing to the point I was afraid to fall asleep until it passed. I was mostly surprised and dissatisfied with the panic/fearfulness and mood swings. I felt like I was taking a bad batch of illegal street drugs/uppers as opposed to the prescribed pain med it actually is! After day 5 I still had pills left over but decided to switch to Tylenol. Night of day 6 (first day not taking Vicodin) I fell asleep early and realized I had the deepest most restful sleep during that whole ordeal. Woke up next day feeling significantly better as Vicodin was really getting out of my system. Oh and constipation was not a prob because I used Metamucil and senna tea.

Good for short term pain. Watch out for longer use. Part of the time I felt relaxed, slightly euphoric and pain free. Other part was extremely anxious/fearful but I've gotten used to dealing with anxiety from other experiences and have gotten decent with remembering to breathe, self soothing and waiting for the panic to pass. Good luck to you all

Nausea and start feeling high, I was happy then I was crying for no reason, I start vomiting blood, worst experience ever.

I was hesitant to use this medication in the first place and after this experience I don't want to take it ever again. I've been up all night vomiting to the point where I'm just dry heiving. If you need to take it, I advise you to use caution.

Fine the first few times. The last second times, extreme nausea, vomiting, head spinning. Felt hung over. Don't understand why I'm having this reaction

Wonder if I am now allergic to it.

At first I felt a little euphoric but within a short time a horrible feeling of nauseau overwhelmed me. The room was spinning and I spent the next 2 hours hugging the toilet vomiting. I wanted to go to the hospital and felt like I was dying. I finally managed to crawl into bed and prayed I would fall asleep. In the morning I felt mostly better but still spinning from the night before and still my stomach wasn't right. I would never recommend this medicine to anyone. STAY AWAY!

degenerative disk disease, arthritis

I was taking vicodin on and off for 2 years, but every day now for the last year. My prescribed dose is 20mg a day, but I've noticed my tolerance going up. I try to skip days, but the pain is awful and I find myself craving the vicodin, which I do not like. I know it's an addictive drug, but it helps my pain for right now.

back pain (arthritis in spine)

Took this med for several years before my tolerance just didn't allow it to work anymore and doc switched me to something else. This worked wonders for my back pain and enabled me to function on a daily basis. It was great while it lasted, unfortunately it is known for tolerance being a problem.

Euphoria, hot flashes and legs and hands, overall Vicodin is for drug addicts it was somewhat unsuccessful at relieving pain and tolerance went up after a few days

More euphoria than actual pain relief. And it's usefulness goes down to nothing after taking it just a few days. A rapid tolerance, moreso than other opiates. It's the type of drug that's only beneficial if taken every now & a Blue Moon -- not regularly. Really it isn't a great pain reliever overall. I guess it's prescribed so much simply because it makes patients happy for a few days.

I have been taking Vicodin for several issues as needed. It works great for my pain, which can be severe at times. I do notice some itching and constipation, but compared to my pain, it's nothing! Be sure to drink plenty of water while taking this medication. Eat with a snack or light meal to prevent upset stomach if that is an issue for you. Overall, this is a wonderful drug for me!

VICODIN (ACETAMINOPHEN; HYDROCODONE BITARTRATE): This combination medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain. It contains an opioid (narcotic) pain reliever (hydrocodone) and a non-opioid pain reliever (acetaminophen). Hydrocodone works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. Acetaminophen can also reduce a fever. This product is not recommended for use in children younger than 6 years due to an increased risk of serious side effects (such as slow/shallow breathing). There arenā€™t a lot of good meds for nerve pain. Gabapentin can really help. I have taken it off and on at different times throughout my 20 years dealing with nerve damage. Iā€™ve never had a difficult time stopping it. Everyone has their own experiences, though. I find this mild compared to many of the other options.

Seroquel helps me to be more directed and take action without the anxiety which used to paralyze me and prevent me from even deciding what clothes to wear.

I found that if I take it right before I go to bed, I sleep like a rock, and wake up maybe an hour earlier than I do in the winter (without Allegra D), but feeling completely refreshed. As for efficacy, it works wonders for my seasonal allergies! It's enabled me to quit asthma steroids, which have much more terrible side effects. :-(

my periods are finally regular and light

I'm writing this for my son, who is still feeling the side effects from the Lamictal. My son is bipolar and had regularly taken Zyprexa until he changed doctors and she decided to wean him onto Lamictal. He was doing ok with the 25-50 mg, but when he began taking 100 mg, he started having debilitating headaches (immense pressure), nausea, tingling and heat waves over his body, anxiety attacks and had absolutely no energy. The effects were so devastating that he couldn't function or go to work. Nothing improved and my son became very weak from not being able to eat for so long. he informed his doctor he wanted to stop taking it and go back on the Zyprexa. It's now 6 days after he stopped the Lamictal and began taking the Zyprexa and he's still having waves of pressure headaches, low energy levels, some anxiety and lack of energy, although, overall his condition is slowly improving.

I love this med! I haven't been up, down, or sideways finally! and I have lost 5 lbs. since i stopped all the others like neurontin, norpramine and elavil. Would like to know from others how well wellbutrin interacts w/ lamictal (need to stop smoking) :)'

I became very agitated if I had coffee with it. When I stopped coffee, it was better & W/b does give me more energy and able to face things better and get more done, so I don't need the caffiene. It's been 10 days and now I have a terrible headache and am wondering if it's from the W/b? I don't sleep as well, but since I function better during the day, it's an acceptable trade-off. The idiot who thinks there is no such thing as chemical imbalance should've been w/me watching my daughter in the hosp from thyroid storm. She was totally dilusional till her thyroid levels normalized. Thyroid is a hormone/chemical. Wake up to the facts!

Still have bronchitisand the kidney issue and now on Levquin.

Severe depression, suicidal thoughts. Shortness of breath, facial muscle tension, constipation
