OXYCONTIN (OXYCODONE HYDROCHLORIDE): This medication is used to help relieve severe ongoing pain (such as due to cancer). Oxycodone belongs to a class of drugs known as opioid (narcotic) analgesics. It works in the brain to change how your body feels and responds to pain. The higher strengths of this drug (more than 40 milligrams per tablet) should be used only if you have been regularly taking moderate to large amounts of an opioid pain medication. These strengths may cause overdose (even death) if taken by a person who has not been regularly taking opioids. Do not use the extended-release form of oxycodone to relieve pain that is mild or that will go away in a few days. This medication is not for occasional ("as needed") use. I originally took Wellbutrin XL, 300 mg a day about 3 years ago and it did wonders then, so after a year I stopped taking it. Unfortunately, my depression came back, so I am back on Wellbutrin Xl, 300mg. Despite the same side effect of insomnia, I know it will go away in a few weeks, as it did the first time. I truly believe in Wellbutrin XL over anything else. I have had no other side effects, and my mood, energy level, focus and a positive outlook are all creeping back into my life. For anyone interested in taking it, I totally recommend it, but give it a try for at least 2 months before deciding against it, as it doesn't fully work for about 4-6 weeks. Just give it some time, and I bet most of you will be much better off than before!

Right now wondering if I need it because I was taken off of it yesterday and now I'm not feeling so great
I was give this drug at the ER. I am also almost 3 months pregnant. They gave to me through and IV and after about 15-20 minutes after it was give I'm arm started to hurt and feel strange so I paged for the nurse and once she final came after about 30 minutes. I removed my arm from under the sheet and here my are was swelled from the elbow down to bout right before my wrist. And it hurt and ways throbbing and very red. The nurse stopped the salean drip but was going to leave the needle in my arm. All she did was put an ice pack on my arm. The wanted to put another IV in my other are and give me more Medicean. They then got mad because I refuse any more treatment. This drug is not safe and I wasn't even sure if it would harm my baby or not!!!
My Mom diagnosed with Dementia has been on Namenda for about 2 yrs which has been helpful. Doc decided to add 5 MG of Aricept and after 16 days turned out to be disaster. I planned to have live-in care giver but because of her decline from the aricept we placed her in assisted living for her to recoop. I hope the aricept did not trigger permanent decline. I am soooo sad to see the change. I am praying she at least gets nback to the way she was when she was just on the Namenda.
I have almost instanteous relief when I take a shot of toradol. My doctor has limited the shots to no more than one per week, because of the side effects.
Dr said to stop taking lipitor for two weeks and have my muscle mass checked and if the level comes up then I have to stop lipitor and try something else.
