Side Effects for Lodine (etodolac)

LODINE (ETODOLAC): This medication is used to reduce pain, swelling, and joint stiffness from arthritis. Reducing these symptoms helps you do more of your normal daily activities. Etodolac is known as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking your body's production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. If you are treating a chronic condition such as arthritis, ask your doctor about non-drug treatments and/or using other medications to treat your pain. See also Warning section. Drowsiness, Dizziness, and alot of itching!

I am going to go off it for a solid month and see if there is any change I can not stand the pain anymore. I've had bone scan, MRI head scan, and other tests for other things as well and also saw a neurologist with no results. They just want to give me pain meds. I also get a neck shot of steroids every three months, this helps the neck pain but not the face pain. I'm at my wits end I swim four days a week and do aquasize and also do machines and life weights, otherwise my body is in excellent shape.

I would never recommend this drug to anyone. I have taken this drug many times in my life, sometimes a year at a time for UTI's maintenance. But after this last time, I noticed that my Peripheral Neuropathy got worse. I researched my medical records and found that after taken this drug I soon complained of Neuropathy problems and all over pain that the doctor blamed on fibromyalgia. I think that it was this drug that cause it. I will never take this drug again! I also found out that sometimes this drug did not clear up my UTI's and had to be put on a different antibiotic. Take it from someone that has had many experiences taking this drug; don't take it!

Side effects were dizziness, ringing in the ears, extremely stiff neck after stopping Motrin, decreased hearing, irregular menstrual cycles

I couldn't sleep at all many nights

lethargic, extreme difficulty focusing, muscle feel like jelly, joint pain, upset stomach (even when taking with food), over all feeling physically sick, getting plenty of sleep without feeling well rested

After taking 30 MG a day for just 3 months I noticed joint pain constantly. I informed Doctor, and he said it was not the Zocor, and continue to use it. I did for 4 years, and complained. Now off it for 3 months and I feel like a new man, no pain. I feel like I lost 4 years of my life, for no reason.

I took this med for 8 years. In Nov.2012 I noticed both of my feet and ankles were swollen like tree trunks. I thought from too much tamales, PC put me on 40 mg Lasix, didn't help. Went to diab.doctor,he said the actos ingredient was causing the swelling. Then prescribed Actos 1x daily and metformin 500 mg 2x daily. I don't take the actos because of the foot and leg swelling from before. My aBS is now 140-170,not good, but I've been on steroids for two weeks for sinus infection. Also made me gain weight, with Acto PlusMet.

weight gain, thinning hair, tired all the time, brain fog

I couldn't live without it. Have had to increase dosage to 150 mg/day. If I went to 200 mg/day I had more anxiety and restlessness.
